I'd bet you see Joey Mac with a new paint job the next time they're in Calgary for 3 days in a row... He's had enough time to think about a new design now, and I'm sure Kipper's given him the name of his airbrush guy. |

The Flames will be in a tough spot all season long. Part of me wants them to tank and force ownerships hand into changing their philosophy, the other part of me wants them to keeping on winning to show everyone they aren't nearly as bad as people say they are. But at the end of the day a 7th or 8th place finish puts them in a matchup most likely with Chicago or Vancouver in the first round, to which I pose the question....why bother? |

Just added a portion to the blog about that...apparently he was asked about it a few days ago and I missed his response. |

He seems like a great guy
Glad to have him on board. He's exactly what the team has needed the last....well....forever. |

I wonder what the lineups will be tonight, i'm hoping Cervenka gets more ice time. It would be nice if he could centre Baertschi and Hudler! |

As per Pierre LeBrun..........."Another name to watch before April 3 is Jarome Iginla. We don’t know if he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause for a trade, but if he is, and if the Flames are finally willing to move him, one team to keep an eye on is Pittsburgh. I believe the Penguins have interest in Iginla, who found success with Sidney Crosby on Team Canada at the 2010 Olympics. The Penguins have also had success in the past with aging wingers Bill Guerin and Gary Roberts, two players who found new life in their legs after arriving in Pittsburgh. Iginla would be a nice fit there."

I know....anything can happen, right?
I'm more of a calculated risk type of guy, if they had to face the Hawks forget it. If they had to face Vancouver they would have a SLIM chance, but I wouldn't be holding my breath. Would be entertaining though! |

Glad I could help your fix! ....I try to get them up before or around noon as best I can...but my job gets in the way too. I have them prewritten, just need a few tweaks/updates here and there before I post. |

Pittsburgh has great defensman prospects with Joe Morrow, Derek Puliot, Olli Maatta, and Scott Harrington.
Perhaps one of them along with a First (Pittsburgh's first will probably be in the 25-30 range).

I'd rather try and win a cup by building a strong team from the bottom up rather than hoping to squeak into the playoffs and catch lightning in a bottle. But that's just my opinion. |

the question was why bother? pretty simple answer... ANYTHING is possible when you make the playoffs. |
