Wouldn't it be Kipper/Joey Mac tandem? I certainly hope you aren't implying that Kiprusoff should be the backup, or that they rotate starts.

Either way, a b2b win tonight + Kipper coming back soon could do wonders for the fanbase not writing them off. I certainly hope so.

Is Joey getting the start again?

Can we all now agree that Stajan is the real deal?

Stajan is still overpaid, but that being said he's playing great. B Sutter completely wasted him.

You guys better make the playoffs or else keeping this aging team is going to stay mediocre for years to come. I mean I love Iggy, probably my favorite captain in the NHL but he isnt what he used to be. Get some picks and prospects in return. His loyalty is unquestionable, but it might be hurting his team more in the long run. I miss the days when Calgary was a contender and those rivalry games against the Canucks would be the highlight in the Nucks schedule.

Wow, you guys pull off a crazy win and so few seem to care. Everyone having a busy weekend?

Are the Flames trying to ruin their chance at a top 3 pick or what?

Nice to see them win, good effort in both games this weekend, but if they want to make the playoffs I would suggest going for 7th instead of 8th. A matchup with Chicago won't be fun.

I still think they should trade Iggy

Most of us tend to participate here as an attempt to avoid work...

On the weekend I've got stuff going on.

I dunno... I go down to this big tall building about 5 days a week and they give me a computer to come onto hockeybuzz from... then every 2 weeks they put money into my bank account.

It's a pretty sweet gig.

Any reason why Cervenka was on the fourth line? And man I'm starting to love Stajan.

Can someone please tell me why Comeau is getting 13 minutes of ice time, while Cervenka gets 2:57??? mind boggling. I would love to see Cervenka centre Hudler and Baertschi, with all that creativity there's bound to be positive results.

On another note, it was great to watch Akim Aliu out there the other night, I like the energy he brings. Really got the team going after that huge hit on Stoner. I would like to see him in the lineup more!

Was he centering the 4rth line (I didn't see the whole game)? Maybe they are easing him into playing center.

Kinda makes sence. I've heard that he told the coaches that he felt uneasy playing center right away (why he was playing wing) since he has to learn the north american game. I expect he will take Comau's spot after a few more games.

Hope you're right.

Also I hope they're working on a contract extension for him...

I don't know , healthy scratch and 2.5 minutes on the 4th line the next day.

He is real scared of the boards, seems weak, not breakaway speed either. Great hands and good hockey sense, but I think the small rink hampers his game.

He's only a few game in to his NHL career. It's going to take some time. His injury and fact that there wasn't a full training camp or any exhibition games really hurt his transition I think. Time will tell, but i'd be surprised if he doesn't start seeing some more ice soon. That's assuming he is 100% healthy.

You are right about being healthy, I don't think he is or is in game shape. I don't get how the Flames pumped him up as a Centre and he is not a centre, where were the scouts?
