And second.
Hey JJ, any word if they are bringing up anyone from Rockford if Hoss can't go? |

Does Carcillo get the nod over Bollig/Mayers you think? |

I would expect practice to reveal lineup answers as usual. All anyone can do is guess right now. Hossa's readiness (or not) is the big domino. Unless he's out for a while, and Carcillo is still a ways off, they probably won't bring anyone up. |

Who might be someone they'd bring up if Hoss and Carcillo are still a little while from coming back? I'd love to see Ben Smith get another shot in Chicago when healthy/ |

If there even is the least concern on Hoss, I'd sit him. Hopefully he was just shaken up, and all is good. |

Agreed. And also you never know what kind of $hit the san jose tuna fish might try to pull on a guy fresh from a head injury. |

Ditto. I was looking forward to a possible whole year of him last year to see what he could do. Too bad injuries have derailed his career for a while now. He's another guy that goes to the net and you can't have enough of that; at least on this team last year.
This year I am pleasantly surprised that it seems the majority of times they are in the O zone someone is going to the net. I know they could be better on the PP but I see guys in front for that too. Please continue that!
That said, Smith could score from the dirty areas so would like to see him up again sometime. |

I think the smart thing to do would be to sit him out this entire weekend. While the Sharks aren't as awful as they've been, They still aren't in any good form, the Oilers are struggling, and Columbus is Columbus....although watching them beat the Red Wings was wonderful. It just seems like a prudent thing to do to let him rest up. But I don't make those decisions.
I guess I wouldn't be shocked if the Sharks put up a good fight. But this looks like a team that wants to go home. They just look slow. And old. And Bad.
I think they get the record tonight. rather easily.

I'm OK with HOSS being out and taking a couple more days.
That alternate lineup is just fine given Bollig and Mayers will be dressed. This way if Clowe and especially Jumbo-playoff-no-show-Joe tries something with Toews, Q can easily put one of those guys out with the captain and stop any BS, just like last season out West.
Well, I really didn't care much about this so-called record start, but as long as they're on the doorstep, they might as well set it, right. Let's go boys! Make it 14-0-3 ... in regulation please. |

All reports (from the mouths of Carcillo/Q) say that Carcillo is practicing with the team and is ready to play. Q has said he will play this homestand, which has 3 games remaining over 4 days here. |

Agreed. At least tonight anyway; if they want to rest him the whole weekend would be fine with that too.
Was watching part of the Wings game and they were up at the time so nice to see Columbus come back and get the win. Scary moment with Anisimov going down; took him off on a stretcher. Hope he's ok.

If Hossa had a concussion doesn't he have to pass a concussion test to be cleared to play? Otherwise I expect Hossa to play given his competitiveness as a professional athlete.

My guess is Hoss sits and Carbomb plays. Maybe:
13-19-25
10-36-88
29-65-20
52-16-67
We'll see, I guess... |

He passed the concussion tests they gave him yesterday and they said he will undergo another round of tests today. |

I saw this and decided it would be my one reply for today, as I am knee deep in finishing video, and reorganizing the 2014 & 2015 draft profiles I want to at least start, since I don't have players even in their correct draft years!
The Sharks have played the hawks twice.
I think at this point this a pride thing for their coach and the Shark players.
I think you are going to see a real strong effort to continue to disrupt the Hawk flow and some exerted effort to get more chances on the hawks and even try and get some calls on their favor.
I expect the two slow defenders, Murray and Stuart to actually work a bit harder.
If you don't think that the two Shark bottom lines know they haven't done their job scoring or even stopping the Hawks, you haven't been at a video session.
The top lines also are looking to reprise their early season prowess, because they are feeling the pressure.
I am gonna say, that the hawks better be ready for a game.

I lied ...one more.
When Hossa was talking about how he just stayed in the locker room after the hit...well he had time in the quiet room and there was no way the league or team is gonna endanger his return...it would be bad for perception and business.

Entire post was well written, and my thoughts exactly. I think the Sharks may be seeking some redemption, and if the Hawks don't play the full 60 tonight, we could be in trouble. I'm more worried about points and playoff seeds than this record. The boys keep saying they're taking it one game at a time, and I hope they continue to do so.
Still, it would be nice to take all three from the Sharks. |

To add Niemi has been playing outstanding for the Sharks lately. He has given up more than one goal twice in the last six games. Hawks need to come out bombing Niemi like a bomb shelter. |
