The simple reason there hasn't been a trade is because other teams seem to be asking for an arm and leg in return.

Only a moron would trade young talent for overpriced veteran stopgaps.

Well Tim

I think the Flyers have finally gotten serious. Serious about sticking to the plan and letting the youth develop.

A fair point but Jagr's leadership and mentorship is sorely missed by the team, especially Claude Giroux.

Trading youth for a veteran may not be a good idea, but the need is there.

Philly can turn it around, but it's missing leadership right now.

Keeping vets is different than trading for one. If they miss the playoffs this year, it's not the end of the world.

Imagine adding Jones, MacKinnon, Barkov, Drouin or Monahan to the group of kids they have now.

This Flyers team has tons of leadership. Plenty of veteran players to provide leadership including Timonen, Briere, Knuble, Talbot, Fedetenko, and Hartnell. It was a good move not to bring Jagr back in my opinion.

Thanks for the laughs Tim. I can always count on some comedy gold when I click on your stories.

Seth Jones is out of the question, thats Edmontons target. And we all know no team can tank a season like the OILERS!
