Ott wont need luck, DiPietro will be in net. Thats 4 goals against at a minimum.

Is it really a sold out "home crowd" if at least half the people attending were Flyers fans? Just sayin'.

MacLean has them playing some good old fashion Maritime hockey. Speed, hustle and sacrifice. Winning combo.

Tough game to call.

I have tickets for Saturday night... I hope this team doesn't make me regret spending the money on my tickets.

Put up some good coin for these tickets.

I bought both sets in Buffalo.

Against the glass in the Isles end!!!

I may even have my son wear his jersey if they win the next couple games...

a winning streak can only sustain a short time, but our losing streaks are unbearable......
we can not expect anything else until drastic changes are made....

Well since the Islanders always lose to the Senators plus with Ricky D in net Ottawa get spotted 4 goals off the bat. Islanders lose 5 - 2

We keep talking about KO deserving a seat in the press box (and I still feel that way), but how about A-Mac? He sucks right now. for years, he's been overrated by this organization and mis-cast out of necessity as a top pair or top four D-man. But his last few games have been dogs**t. I'd rather see A-Mac in the press box than on the ice for a couple of games.

It all goes back to the culture on this team that nobody's job is in jeopardy. Nobody on the roster is playing for their jobs. That's why guys like KO and now A-Mac can continue to do nothing on the ice and get playing time. Jack needs to grow some balls and send a message to the underachievers who are doing s**t by letting them watch a few games from the press box. And I don't want to hear any of this crap about "showcasing guys for trades". You can't reward players with ice time for playing like s**t.

Isles 3-1, in a bounce back. Dp gets hurt in the first 5 minutes, which prevents the 4 automatic goals for Ottawa. Isles go on to a Win. Too bad DP is out for 7 weeks with a bruised ego..

I just can't comprehend how much longer this situation can continue. Capuano is clearly in over his head, as he has never dealt with an NHL squad trying to take it to the next level. Snow and Wang need to stop focusing on the fact that he is a "nice guy" and start focusing more on the product on the ice. We have a few nice lines that could really click with the right coaching, mentoring, and instruction. These players are still all so young and can be molded into what the coach needs them to be. However, Capuano is not the man to do this at the present time, as he simply needs to be molded into an NHL coach himself. I am not putting him down, I am just saying it makes sense for Capuano to take on an NHL Assistant Coaching position with another squad before he makes the jump straight to being a head coach. Yesterday's game against the Flyers is clearly a great example that he does not make the right move when necessary (failure to call a timeout, failure to pull Nabokov, poor line combinations when under pressure, etc.). Even yesterday's game aside, Capuano has been suspect on many occasions.

As for our lines, it may be time for a shakeup, as well. This is all incumbent on switching coaches, as clearly Capuano won't make the big moves necessary. Upon bringing in a new coach, it would not hurt to call up Niederreiter. It also may be time for Okposo to watch a few games from up top, get into proper game shape, and then insert him back into the lineup when he looks a little more prepared. He clearly was not doing his conditioning during the lockout, as is evident by his slow-footedness and his head always being down. I'll leave Aucoin in, although he has not looked good the past half-dozen games, either.

Moulson - Tavares - Niederreiter
Bailey - Nielsen - Boyes
Grabner - Aucoin - Ullstrom
Martin - Cizikas - McDonald

Never been an Amac fan think he is totally over rated to be honest. I saw Strait and even Finley play better than him and he definitely does not deserve to be on a power play at all. He is mediocre and this is what the Islanders like in there team and that is obvious

First and foremost this team needs a coaching change NOW. I realize that's tough to do with back to back games but after a showing like yesterday, there are just too many things that lead me to believe Cappy is simply an oblivious passenger on the bus.
If your team needs and assistant coach to do the yelling and screaming in order to wake them up against their biggest rival during a 5 game losing streak, you've got a leadership issue. When your young star (at the time 21), feels compelled to take the pen from the coach and draw a diagram for the players during a timeout and the coach only watches and steps back,...that's a problem. When your goaltender who has started 13 of 15 games and is getting shelled 5-0 going into the third period..>TAKE HIM THE F OUT! Don't leave him in there fore more pointless frustration.
I've seen enough of Jack trying to match our 4th line against the other teams 1st line despite having the home change advantage. This guy simply doesn't have a clue and is completely overwhelmed. So while we can all debate whether NHL players should need a coach to motivate them, my biggest concern is whether that coach is DEMOTIVATING them.

I've been an Islander fan since 1978. I could never understand why everyone is always so negative in their comments. I always tried to stay positive and have faith in Garths plans or vision. I'm now at a point that i've had enough of this BS. We need a coach with structure. I feel we have a decent blue line but, they appear to be disorganized and chasing the puck. KO and Bailey you've had enough time to develop. Enough is enough step it up or sit them. We need to trade some of these young prospects and get more establish solid players. Tavares isn't going to be young forever build the team around him now. I don't think we realize how aweful this team is because Tavares makes the team look better than they are. I can't take this any longer!!!!!!!!!!

The Isles problem is Charles Wang. You have to spend money to make money and Wang isn't willing to give Snow a legitimate shot at winning. The same problem lies with the Sens. Spezza, Karlsson and Anderson (surprisingly) are the team and with two of three on the shelf for the year we're (frank)ed. Battle of potential top-5 picks tonight.

-"decent blueline" might be generous...at this point i like visnovsky, hamonic is ok (being overworked and its starting to show), streit blows, strait is injured, everyone knows how i feel about amac (overrated and replaceable; trade his ass now), and finley is a 6/7

-totally agree....when tavares plays well, the islanders win. when he doesnt, they lose. once again, its a 1 line team...grabner should be packaged and traded to get a SERIOUS dman coming back

im not looking for him on the bench...i want other teams to think "he plays top minutes for the islanders, certainly if we could play him on the 2nd pairing" and give up something solid for him....i want him out when his value is highest!!!
