I think the Flyers are into the subtle tank mode right now. Holmgren is just biding his time until the end of this shortened season. In past years, he'd have already shot all 6 shots in his 38 special and reloaded already. Just stay on their defence and shoot it into Luke Schenn's corner and wait for the turnovers.

Corey Pronman @coreypronman
Jonathan Drouin is leading the Q in points per game at 2.10 (yes really), but #Lightning prospect Kucherov not far behind at 2.00.

Corey Pronman @coreypronman
Rare for a 17 year old to be at or over 2.00 PPG in the CHL. Last one I remember was Tavares who was at 2.00 exactly at 16 and 17.

Just sayin...

I hope it's very soon and not a couple of years away. I'd love for Jimmy D to come back as President. The idea of Neil Smith coming back leading the Isles to a Cup would be sweet and would piss off Wang

Of course you have to blame snow...if he took hedman over JT, this team woulda have been in the cup finals already. Such a poor decision there...

We have to realize that if it wasn't for Wang, New York Islanders wouldn't remain on Long Island. We have him to thank for but he is still a terrible owner when it comes to the roster and contract deals. So it will be a great fresh start for us when we welcome a new owner which hopefully will be the russian from Nets. I don't rmr his name.

From NHL Trade Rumor:

The Toronto Maple Leafs appear to be very interested in Colorado Avalanche restricted free agent center Ryan O’Reilly, according to multiple sources. The Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, Philadelphia Flyers and Winnipeg Jets are also believed to be interested in O’Reilly, who is seeking a five-year contract worth around $5 million per season.

5 years at 5 million per...?

Ouch. And the Avs want productive players in a trade? That's quite a bit...

Gotta Love the MM quote, what wise words! Its time the Isles stop asking what JT can do for them, and see what they can do for JT and SIGN MM to an extension NOW! He is not like PA, he is not just a part, he is essential to our core and his chemistry and friendship with JT are one of the biggest assests we have.

I agree. Perennial 30 goal scorers don't just grow on trees. He doesn't show any sign of slowing down. He reminds me of a better Tomas Holmstrom so much.

I think Nelson can be a 40 goal scorer. I would consider him an untouchable.

I'm sure the price is very high...Avs probably want Okposo and Reinhardt..which Snow probably countered with Neilsen and Donovan or something like that...

Not to have an argument with you but then you're saying if Nelson is a 40 goal scorer he is better than Tavares because JT has never scored 40 goals. I think Nelson might be a 20-25 goal scorer which makes more sense...
