The Southleast, home of the loser point. Nice to know that your guaranteed a playoff spot in the top 3. Only problem with today's game, between the Lightning and the Panthers, was that one team had to win. The sham of it all, the other team got a freebee point too! This game should have redeemed no points for either team, since they played such sloppy hockey.

Agreed. The fact that both teams were rewarded for that *display* is really not right.

Congrats, you just beat an AHL team. Panthers suck, we blow every lead we have. This team will never change and it's frightening to see the young kids like Huberdeau and Shore be apart of this losing team. It's only going to ruin them in the long run just like it did to Weiss. Horton was the lucky one to be traded away from this nightmare and win a cup the first year he's gone. Panthers are a joke, don't get too high from this win fellas.

in all honesty if you were playing an actual decent team you would have gotten 0 points. Should have gotten 0 points anyway but that's what happens when you face a minor league team that plays with no effort with a lead.

I'm curious to you opinion of Pouliot's play through the quarter mark of the season. Having watched him last year with the Bruins he was wildly inconsistent, he showed flashes of why he was take #4 but a lot of the time he disappeared. He didn't fit within the Bruins system but it seems like he has latched on in Tampa. I must admit I haven't watched all of the Lighting games so my sample size is small, but he seems to be playing well in top 6 minutes.

Well the Panthers and Lightning were guilty of a lot of the same crimes today. Neither team deserved much out of this one.

I've been very impressed. I had a little conversation on Twitter with Ty Anderson about him and we agreed that having him know that he doesn't have to be "the guy" here in Tampa has worked out really well for all parties involved. He's playing most of his time on the third line and second powerplay unit, though with Malone out he is seeing some top six time. He's a cog in a bigger offensive machine and he seems to be thriving.

Ten points through fourteen games is reason enough to like him in his role here, but he's doing more than that too. He's using his speed, forechecking, and hitting. He's a much different player than the guy I remember from Minnesota and Montreal (I'll admit I didn't follow him in Boston).

That's good to hear, I liked him during his year in Boston. Given our current struggles at the 3rd line wing slot I wish the Bruins had kept him on the team. We could really use some secondary scoring and he would have brought it. Looking forward to the matchup on Thursday.

I don't know that you guys have a lot to be scared of unless the Lightning wake up real quick here

Either way, looking forward to it also.

A game between two bad teams. Really showed. Errors galore, especially from the lightning. Just had a bit more firepower about them today. But hey a win's a win.

If anybody noticed that one crazed lightning fan behind the net when teddy tied it up...yeah that was me ahaha.

Nice. Pretty exciting goal.

I watched until 5 - 3 then went out. Came back to find they had tied the game and watched the winner. Strange game. An ugly win is still worth 2 points.

Will be in the upper bowl on Tuesday to watch my two teams. Fans don't know what to think since I cheer goals and good plays by both teams in my Lightning jersey.

Love the Leafs fans getting a voice with a winning team once in a blue moon. The Southeast has one two cups since you have even made the playoffs and it would be fitting if you leave Florida 0-2 next Wednesday. True a sh**ty game bad passes and turnovers but I would have thought you were watching the Leafs over the last decade and were use to seeing this type of game. By the way the Atlantic division has more points from OT and SO than the Southeast and only one more than the Northeast division so please try and be funny and not just another Leaf troll, I would have thought that now that they are playing well you would have something to talk about on your blog.

It doesn't matter where the Leafs are in the standings, most (if not all) northern hockey fans don't believe we should have a team . As far as I'm concerned they can all do something that physically impossible to themselves .

This game was rough, hard to watch and weak on defense (Lee and Carle). At the end of the day we got a win. Yes it was a pathetic, horrendous, weak Panthers team, but it's two points and ends our winless streak. Our offense plays well at run and gun hockey, our defense was weak this game, but still better then last season. Lindback, in my opinion gets a mulligan in this game. There was only one bad goal (4th one) and he just got over a serious flu bug. other then that we really need to clear the front of the net and rebounds.

He hasn't been bad, just kinda average. Could just be new team jitters. Gonna give him at least 30 games to get settled.

As someone who lives in Winnipeg as a Lightning fan I can kind of agree with you that a lot of people up here don't think Tampa should have a team. However I know quite a few people from Winnipeg that have been to a game in Tampa and were surprised and impressed with the amount of true hockey fans the Lightning have. A few of my friends were so impressed with the fans and the arena atmosphere that Tampa is a team they now follow.
