Bout f'n time Juice gets some good recognition. Bieksa and Kesler are my 2 favorite Canucks. Love the way he plays on the ice and while he may not always be on as far as intensity during the regular season(which player is?) he really comes up big when it counts...the playoffs. As far as toughness goes I love watching him hit and fight when he decides to do it. I was listening to the Ducks feed a couple weeks back and the announcers asked Parros a year or 2 back who is one of the toughest players pound for pound in the NHL and he said Bieksa. Juice is one bad mother(frank)er!

He'd be #1 in TO ? So you are saying he is better than Phaneuf ?
I'm not a fan of the guy, but please explain how ?

I'll keep it simple

Q1- YES
Q2-YES

Phaneuf = 3/4 on most teams

Bieksa = 2/3 on most teams

One player doesn't make a team...

Also he has been paired with Kuba most of the season who has been a train wreck.

Good player on bad team. Nothing more than that.

Campbell is a great D who is slightly overpaid.

+/- should be taken with a grain of salt.

Super Doo to the rescue

yep, just like you always back up your comments.

Please make a case as to why Phaneuf is a better defenceman.

I would say they are roughly the same player.

Florida and Buffalo were the tough ones to name him as the best D.

Post their year by year stats side by side and tell me Bieksa is better without crossing your fingers. The only thing Bieksa can boast is a better plus/Minus - go figure...

Truth is I dont bother with logic on this board.
I've tried to communicate rationally but the Nuckers are so quick to hate on anything said by the follower of another club that poking the bear has become the thing to do instead

Phaneuf and his sloppy second line.

I also feel bad for Phaneuf playing in the TO market, lot of pressure to deal with, not sure how he does with the media.

Bieksa does well in this market with the media, IMO, which I realize is not the same as TO.

I would take Phaneuf over Bieksa, if it is the Phaneuf from a few years ago when he used to hammer people.
