So much for Lokti, and i like Poni coming back.
But does anyone else thinks it strange that Zubrus' injury went from an upper body injury to needing wrist surgery?

I guess it depends where his hands. Could switch hour-to-hour.

He's a good 5-on-5 player. What I like best about guys like Ponikarovsky is what I'll call the "Friesen" element for the sake of this argument.

Jeff Friesen was a guy who scored "off timed" goals in a game while the other team is having a dominant shift or something and that totally caught the other team by surprise and changed the momentum of the game. Ponikarovsky did that a lot for New Jersey in the playoffs last year while Carter, Bernier, and Gionta did the sort of thing as well. He's a great third liner, especially for this organization.

We know what Poni brings, he knows the system, he knows what to expect coming back.
Big, versatile and back on a winning team should revitalize him. So much for free agency.

Who sits...who knows but my choice (if all is healthy) would be Matteau.

I like Poni better than bringing back Sykora quite frankly.

Hey, maybe Ottawa needs Henrik Tallinder to "fill in" for Karlsson.

Haha what? Maybe he forgot to pack it when he left NJ last time. Good riddance to a guy who didn't care to play here.

I'm trying to at least get a chuckle out of this I really am . Hope it ends up working that way somehow honestly. Poor Karlsson though. Cooke needs to go, end of story, he's done enough to potentially harm other player's careers on plays that aren't in the least incidental. I do have to say I'm surprised at the timetable for his return to hockey activities at 3-4 months, I just cant believe that number.

Ah he'll be fine. Zajac tore his achilles last year... he came back for us at the right time. Essentially, it's the same injury; he tears his achilles (not severed), so he'll probably be skating at training camp. I doubt he returns in 3 months as well. He'll be on skates the first time in June, probably, but certainly won't be in game condition if Ottawa happens to still be in the playoffs... which they won't (and if they do, hand the Adams to MacLean).

NJ has to make room for the guys possibly coming up next year like Merrill or Urbom, maybe Severson or Gelinas. We're sort of loaded on the back end in terms of prospects. I kind of wish they had kept Taormina.

I agree, he didn't look good playing with the Jets but he did seem to fit our style here and hopefully he'll play like he did last year with us.....it is worth a shot since Zubs is out for 4/6 weeks
