Hopefully he provides some playmaking skill and gets the Puck in space to Geno and Neal. (I assume he will be there??) Looking forward to his debut tomorrow night, as I highly doubt he gets called up to eat popcorn in the press box |

Gotta give the kid a look before the trade deadline. The Boychuk experiment was cheap, easy, and didn't produce. This is as good a time as any to bring Bennett up. |

“I don't know if it's going to be a top-six role for him,” Shero said. “It might be a bottom-six role. I just think he needs an opportunity to find his confidence at the NHL level. It just seemed like there were some guys passing him by.”
Interesting on two things 1) Bennett was said to might play along with sid, so why all of a sudden a possible bottom 6 minutes? 2) who are these other players passing him by? Bc if they are better then him why arnt they up? |

you waive him at the very least. not sure you'd land much in a trade after seeing his production while playing 7 games next to two elite players.
waive him...carolina would probably pick him back up. rutherford has said as much locally here so we might see if that's the case. |

If Boychuk was worth a 3rd, the Canes would have traded him for a 3rd. |

after lighting it up while on a line with 71 and 18 he's not worth anything but a bus ticket to the next town. |

not if they wanted to keep him in the organization but I understand your reasoning...
I wonder what he is thinking right now.. brought to play with malkin, then not performing on the score sheet, being put on 3rd line, now with bennett being moved up.. I bet he is living out of a suitcase in Sutters house |

It seems like players of his caliber spend much of their playing career living out of suitcases... That has to be a strange lifestyle, not knowing where you will be from basically week to week or month to month. |

Its official, no one can play with Malkin and Neal. Lets write everyone off after 6 game tryout cause that's all anyone should need to learn how those two play.
In six games if Bennett doesn't have 10 points lets trade him while he still has some worth! |

I'm sure any combination of TK, Jeffrey, Boychuk and a first will get the Pens just about any player in the league lol. |

Am I the only one that's seen some good in Boychuk? Good skater. Makes some nice passes. Plays with a little grit. Seems to put himself in the right places. He might not be the answer for Geno's line, but he was far and away superior to Tangradi IMO.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I see Boychuk on the roster at the end of the year. Maybe not always on the ice for every game. |

they never expected him to clear waivers. rutherfod admitted that and boychuk confirmed it in an interview. he fully expected to be on the move once he hit waivers. |

I don't dislike him. I just don't think he fits on this team. He's not really a bottom six player and his only real attribute he's displayed in Pit or Carolina (where I've watched him a bunch) is his speed. There just really doesn't seem to be a role for him on this team. |

Glad to see Bennett back up. I'm sure he will be anxious to help out considering it'll be his first NHL game. It seemed pretty obvious since he was in Pittsburgh for his doctors appointment that he'd be staying. That was even more obvious when Shero said he wasn't sure if he'd stay or not. He wouldn't be unsure about that. |
