It's common at the same time it's not exactly legal for me to get into an altercation in the first place in the real world. There's a good chance you are fighting for your life so biting might be a way to get out of trouble. Grabovski was playing a game, what was really the worse that could've happened to him? |

True but you are also assuming rational thought was taking place in the heat of the moment. There are countless examples of times when a person physically reacts to some outside stimuli with no consicous thought whatsoever. |

Glen Miller: What a Difference a Day Makes and Thoughts on Grabovski Biting Incident - Glen Miller
Consider this regarding the Grabovski/Pacioretty incident.
Placing a forearm over an open mouth and applying significant pressure (as we saw) will leave teeth marks WITHOUT an actual bite taking place.
There is clearly 0 evidence of a biting motion/action, BUT there is video evidence of a forearm being placed over Grabovski's mouth while Pacioretty is applying significant pressure.
I'm not saying that Grabovski didn't bite, and by no means do I condone biting, but no one can say truly say that Grabovski bit him either.

And let me also say this: Had there been clear proof that Grabovski did bite Pacioretty then he should have been suspended. Even if it was reactionary it's still not something you want to have in the game. |

Ahhhh, but YOU ARE ASSUMING that "conscious thought" wasn't taking place.
Neither can be proven and assumptions are not valid in this case. |

I'm allowed only so many characters in the title. I didn't have room for additional adjectives. |

No worries. We here at Hockeybuzz are smart enough to know that that's what you meant.... |

No, I was just suggesting it was possible that it was reactionary and not a conscious decision by Grabovski. No one know what, if anything, was going through his head at the time. |

Just 'cause some freak jams his love monkey in your butt doesn't mean you're no longer heterosexual and similarily if Broke Neck Mountain jams his arm in your mouth it doesn't make you a biter....just makes "patches" a moron. At least this is over and Max P. can get back to chasing that scoring title. |

Glen Miller: What a Difference a Day Makes and Thoughts on Grabovski Biting Incident - Glen Miller
Big difference indeed, I still think they should of won that game against the Oilers if Dubynick didn't decide to go into god mode and stop 39 out of 40 shots.
Now that being said , I hope they learned that scoring by committee is how they will win games and everyone must be on deck every game (also meaning the 4th line) and I find it's also a welcomed culture change. |

It was certainly a step in the right direction getting scoring from at least 3 of the 4 lines. It's going to be a struggle most games to get scoring though. Last night of course was an aberration and it wasn't as if Greiss was real good in goal.
The key is being able to get consistent forechecking pressure from all four lines. If they can do that they increase their odds of getting 3 goals a game. |

He bit him.
I cannot believe that Pacioretty would react immediately the way he did. If he started whining after the game, I might get suspicious, but the immediate reaction leads me to believe there was a bite.
I have no problem with it.
What the league really should eliminate is the actions by Prust and Pacioretty and Colton Orr with a very dangerous play on Plekanec. This message sending stuff is what leads to these messes.

After watching the blue jackets dominate Sunday's game against us I had to watch tonight's... Holy poop where did THAT team come from? Last place my ass. And I don't care if Foligno is having trouble finding the back of the net, that guy is a MONSTER. Sunday I was thinking I was going to be depressed if we lost against Columbus but I would have been HONORED if we lost against the team I saw last night. |

It wasn't a bite, more of a curious licking motion. |

miracle max heals quickly on the outside (e.g., chara incident), but i'm worried about his pysche after this one. he's not used to dudes biting him when he sticks his hands in their mouths. |

It definitely could be a natural reaction to bite someone.... I heard that's what all women are supposed to do when in danger. |

Hmm, I think that's worse than a bite to be honest. |
