Thanks for nothin! You were supposed to take em out in Reg!

As suspected the game was boring and spent most of the time up in the bar.

Irving proved me wrong and played very solid....at least for 65 minutes. Came out wayyyyy to far in the shootout and got exposed twice. I feel bad for Iggy....

The highlight of the game was watching Harvey The Hound prunce around, and the dancing guy who takes off his shirts, other than that, game was a complete bore!

The dancing guy is actually very entertaining... When was he hired?

As far as the game goes I thought Calgary had way more chances to put it away, they just can't seem to finish. New year, same story... We make opposing goaltenders look like heroes.

So 10 games in, the metric allot of us on here had as the first true measuring stick... Team grade C-... And the only reason they get that much is the flashes of potential shown in (some games). I've honestly been a huge supporter of allowing Feaster to continue this path. The Sutter errors have (mostly) been corrected. Of the team right now the only ones I can give a passing grade to are Hudler, Crevenka and Wideman... Tanguay has been good (until last night) and I've like Brodie, GlenX is ok too but after that it drops steeply. So maybe the core does need to change?!

I think it's a Berry knockoff, but still pretty funny.

I saw him last year, and he doesn't only work here. I have also seen a clip of him doing another game last year. Might have been Toronto, I can't remember. Perhaps the teams share him, or maybe he has a manager/agent who pimps him out to whoever is willing to pay, or maybe he is an employee of the NHL?

Gio was better again last night after that terrible game against the Canucks too. And I thought Sarich actually had one of his best games of the year. Threw a couple of huge hits and didn't get beaten badly all night.

Got to disagree on Gio (and I love the guy), I was sitting behind the opposing net for 2 periods and thought Gio was god awful.

Also Tangs was horrible too!

Neither team looked overly impressive last night. Both had a few glimpses of offensive prowess, but all in all, enemic offenses on both sides. I thought Irving played well aside from the shoot out, but then again, the Wild have a way of making even the most average of goal tenders look like Patrick Roy in his prime. (no offense to Irving)

No Kidding. I've seen him at a few games now.

What does everyone think the goalie plan is? It's a numbers game and something doesn't add up. Listening to the Fan this morning there were 16 pro scouts at the game last night. I imagine both the Wild and Flames aren't overly happy with their start.

irving just looked overmatched in the shootout. One head fake and he's diving to one side of the net.

Agree but felt he was solid enough to get us the win. Really he's done better than any other back up the last few years with a 1 - 1 -1 record. Plus he was solid in the third period of the Detroit game. We just have to win before it goes to a shootout is all.

I was on the complete opposite side, and I thought he looked better... What did you notice that looked bad?

Against Van he was chasing all night, last night I thought he was at least on the right side of the puck. He seemed to struggle a bit with his passing, but that was true for a lot of guys last night. Tons of passes into skates...

What you thinking? Can't Irving go to Abbotsford without waivers seeing as he has cleared already?

Tanguay definitely made an unusually high number of terrible passes.

How many times did we set up in the zone then pass it back to Irving for the one-timer?

That game was awful last night. 1st period we were putrid, didnt skate & took the 1st 3 or 4 penalties to a slow uninspired Wild team. 2nd period we played better but really, just a boring Sutter type game. The best parts were the dancing guy & Tommy, he was here last year as well. My buddy & I couldnt figure out why is is over weight
Anyway, I would give Backlund a B+ on the small sample games. He made others on his line better. Yeah poor Iggy, the guy just coasted while cashing his $85000.00 chq for dressing for that game. Poor Iggy. Not 1 shift where he dominated the play & got a scoring chance. Those who want Iggy to play his career for the Flames OK with paying 10% of your cap space for a guy that plays a 3 rd line role?

Quote of the night came from my buddy last night. They were handing out stats where they were comparing shots for & against this year versus last year & where the Flames placed in the league. This year we were like 3rd in SOG & 4th in shots against. I said , "what does that mean?" My buddy says "It means we cant (frank)ing score"

Anyway, anyone with delusions of playoffs dancing in their heads, this game should of, must of been a win at home. Dallas & St Louis(who are struggling) are must home wins as they will be the teams we are going to be scrapping with come April if we are in the playoff race. Lose these 2 & I dont think we need to wait until the end of Feb to throw the dirt on our playoff dreams. We play like last night & we are not only going to lose but get our a$$es kicked.

All in all the game was the same as we've seen the last few years, slow, full of mistakes and really no passion. Do you remember how hard it used to be to get tickets for the game? Now they're being offered up on Colin's blog... sad.

Problem was he telegraphed to Parise & Koive that he was coming way out of the net & challenging them to deke him just as th started to skate in. & they did just that. I've watched Kipper enough& you have to go out a few seconds later so they do have so much time deciding to shoot or deke. The kid will learn if he gets the chance.
