With the addition of some of these youngsters comes an energy that often times helps reinvigorate the veteran core group.

This says it all.

tatar should be playin more, nyquist and lashoff too.

mrazek is very composed, like how he plays the puck.

Forecheck was definitely impressive tonight, the pressure definitely threw the Blues off their game.

Really liked Tatar's game, and was nice to see the bottom 6 chip in some points.

Samuelsson should just take his time with that injury, make sure he's really, really well healed up....

Good to see Mrazek have a good outing. He was a great 67.

Not sure if you've seen any GR Griffins games this season... but the Red Wings could take lessons from the Griffins on how to consistently forecheck and lay the body every game. That is one of the reasons they are near the top of the AHL this year... in addition to the fact this is the deepest Griffins team we've had in about 8 years I'd say.

Been saying all year long to give the kids in GR a chance to play and sit some of the old, useless bottom six forward on the Wings. Tatar will most likely earn a roster spot. There are comparisons to him and Hudler... but Tatar is stronger on his skates and MUCH more tenacious on the puck and harder to take the puck away from. Tatar also forechecks.... when did we ever see Hudler forecheck (answer: never).

Now if they'd just bring up Nyquist and Andersson, put them with Tatar on the same line that would be fun to watch... it was one of the best lines in the AHL this season. I'd like to see what it could do as a 4th line in Detroit.

I was at the 2012 WJHC game when Mrazek and the Checks beat the USA. what an exciting game to attend.

I was happy to see him get his first chance in the show.
Playing behind Jimmy Howard may make it a tough hill to climb in Detroit but a few more solid outings like last night and you know he will have a great career ahead of him...

They should throw Mrazek in there every 3-4 games, regardless of opponent.

And the fact that the veterans know they could lose their job might put a fire under their a$$ to work a little harder and not be lazy

Ellerby just dealt to the Kings for only a 5th rounder? Would have done that deal in a second, wish the Wings could have gotten wind of that and made an offer.

It's no secret that we're not exactly stacked on D, this guy was pretty highly touted when he came into the league and hasn't quite panned out it seems but for a 5th I'd absolutely take a chance on him.

David Rundblad from Phoenix will add much needed skill to the power play and rumour has it he is available. The only knock on Rundblad is his play in his own end as that is a work in progress but offensively he is a young Lidstrom. (Top dman in Swedish Elite League at 20 years old, big numbers too)

Ellerby not worth that much, a waist of a first round pick

I was really impressed with Tatar. He looks much bigger than I expected. He has a nice flare to his game and I think he deserves to stay up. The Wings have to start breaking in some of these young guys. Tatar has worked hard for what five years now and should be rewarded. He looks like top six material down the road.

Three things:

Drop Cleary to third line, add Tatar to second line. Tatar with Datsyuk much better option than Cleary.

Anton Babchuk is available

David Rundblad is available

Probems solved, Go Wings

Franzen out with a hip-flexor injury tonight against the Blues. Listed as day-to-day by Holland. Eaves is back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch for the last 4 games. Heck.. they should have had Cleary sit and let Eaves take his spot in the lineup. They can keep Samuellsson out of the lineup too.. the Wings are doing fine without him. Bring Nyquist up.

I'd say just let Cleary sit period... along with either mursak or Emmerton and let Nyquist or Tatar take his spot.

Yeah as mean as it may sound it's pretty depressing seeing Samuelsson getting closer and closer to a return. Saw the replay of Tatar's goal, pretty slick, would be nice to see more of him.
