So if the ducks have a good year and a decent playoff run does perry and getzlaf re up. Just curious on why they would want to leave a playoff team in California at their age.

Picked Fasth up in my fantasy league, usually equals bad results for me and the player. Sorry ahead of time

Traded Hiller and picked up Fasth in my league. I was one of those guys that though Hiller was going to be the main guy in ANA, but I was definitely wrong. Nice call, Palumbo!

IMO I think Getzlaf will take a little less for a longer term if Murray can get Perry signed. Getzlaf isn't going anywhere and he and the Ducks know that and I think that if they give him a 7 year deal Murray might be able to sign Getzlaf for $6.5 mil per. Perry might have to be maxed to keep him however if the Ducks keep playing well it might be easier to get him for less.
It's funny that Getzlaf is playing great this year and he's almost guaranteed to re-sign whereas Perry, who's only scored one goal, might play hardball with the Ducks. You'd think that situation would be reversed.

I think they will both sign and Bobby Ryan will continue to play well at the center position. Setting the organization up for long term success in their top 6.

I hope you're right, but I think Perry is as good as gone. Murray needs to try aggressively to sign him before the deadline, and if he's not signed, he needs to trade him for a good center to build a new 2nd line with Kyle Palmieri. When Perry's gone, Bobby will move up and play with Getzlaf. And whenever Teemu decides to retire, that 2nd line is going to be pathetic.

Not sure what leads you to believe Perry is as good as gone.

Just the vibe I get watching him. Seems like he's disinterested and already kind of checked out, like he's thinking to himself, "Just get through these 48 games and then you're home free." And I feel like the Ducks are trying to ice a team on the cheap, so I know he's gonna get bigger offers from other teams. I think the Ducks will beg him to take a hometown discount when he's proven that he's a max deal kind of player.

I hope that I'm making it up and that he's really committed to this team for the long run.

And if Parise left NJ after getting within 2 wins of the Cup, nothing the Ducks will do this year will convince Perry to stay.

Leafs and Sens fans rejoice! Parise left to go play at home in Minnesota. That means Perry may go back to some team playing in Ontario! Yeah!
