Huge game tonight, hopefully the Sharks are a little tired and after 2 days rest the Hawks come out flying and try to take advantage of that

This is this interesting equalizer in this years schedule.
Many teams are playing back to back with the opposition resting

Examples
Tonight's game and the game in Calgary on Saturday

The Hawks played a tough game in Vancouver and then travel into Calgary and tonight the Sharks face the same after playing the Ducks last night

On Lu
Back up Goalie plays more
Back up gets paid more
Back up has more wins
Do the math

Do you think Soft Joe answers Bollig, or does he have someone else answer for him?

Difference maker of this game might be, wait for it...............Andrew Shaw

We've had our success in the past with Bollands third line frustrating no show joe and the orcas.

Now with Bolland on the second line with kane and sharp, does Q put him against marleau, thornton, and pavelski? Hell no, more like, please no

IMO, Shaw has his first big test at center tonight that he must pass for the hawks to win

Should be another exciting Hawks game.... I'll be watching it right after I watch the flyers get shellacked by the lightning on national TV. Best part of having a pregnant wife is she goes to bed early leaving lots of time to watch hockey... Uninterrupted

He's too much of a ps$$y wimp to answer Bolly, so what makes anyone think he'd answer Bollig. I'm hoping any 'Hawks player on the ice answers the bell as soon as they go after 19 or 81. Remember that bull$hit stopped last year when Jammer was put on Tazer's line.

These are the games when I wish carbomb was available. Carbomb, Jammer, Bollig & Shaw would keep jumbo-playoff-no-show-Joe in check.

Enjoy the pregnancy from that perspective, cuz a year, 2 & 3 years from now, it just won't be the same.

I can't see Bolland playing. Q said Bolland "might" play again on this road trip. Tonight seems too soon.

Q said yesterday at practice (which bolland skated on his usual line) that it is very likely bolland plays tonight

Some pretty cool advanced metrics. Working off a total from 2012. Interesting stuff for sure.

Wow if we were like just 10th in faceoffs, we might be undefeated...if 5th, we might just already have been given the cup...

Well..... do I skip the first period and to finish "Justified" or do I Tivo Raylan and watch the Hawks? Decisions, decisions...

Should be a fun game. The Sharks game with the Quacks was pretty physical. (At least from what I saw. Was watching Vancouver-Edmonton...great game.) Will that leave the Hawks with a tired opponent? Or will the Sharks just relish the chance to be the aggressor and pound the Hawks at opportunity? Should be interesting.

I know what this isn't. This game isn't some "huge test" or "barometer". I'm not falling for that again. The Blues game was suppose to be this huge yard marker for where the Hawks stood. And then when they won nobody said "Well the Hawks proved they can play with anyone in the West..." They just continued on with their doubts and their asterisks...Same with the Vancouver game. This is the 4th game of a 6 game road trip against a fairly good opponent. ( Although my guess is the Sharks wind up lower in the standings than they currently are. Marleau isn't going to keep this up. They're older, and slower...)

Do get to here Randy Hahn and his awful toupee and Drew Remenda though. So that's a plus.

Here's hoping for a good game.

Lots of "opinion" mixed in there. It is revealing, but like ANY statistical breakdown, it misses a lot of the gray and intangibles. They also didn't necessarily consult experienced hockey people for their opinions.

And let me be clear, had they consulted me for example, they would have gotten opinion on the interpretation, just as much so.

Someone inserted that Bolig has zero NHL skill, yet he was and is in the NHL. Someone said Nick Leddy proved himself as a top 4 guy. Apparently, they didn't see his +/- or hear the Hawk coach lamenting how they could not get Leddy to engage physically.

Hey John, love the articles. Always look forward to a quick read when I get to the office in the morning.

Have you heard anything on Steve Montador's status? I know he has become somewhat forgettable with the new found defensive depth this year and the D playing well (so far) but I think he would be a welcome late season/playoff addition as a 7th or 8th depth D-Man
