Iginla is a good rental since Simmonds and Hartnell is injured. CGY should be able to get a prospect and pick from PHI. I would suggest CGY to grab a young roster player in his ELC and a top-mid level prospect. |

I don`t know much about Feaster but whenever I hear him talk he sounds like Mike Gillis in how he evaluates his teams talent I see him holding on to both Iggy and Kipper and making minor tweaks to get a little younger like Tanguay for someone a few years younger but like I said I don`t follow the flames so don`t take this as me trolling |

I don't think Iggy would even waive his NTC to go to a 3rd last place team like the Flyers at his age. If he goes anywhere, its to a team seriously in the running for a cup run in the present. |

can easily afford to make a move for iggy they have a great young core coming up can easily afford to move one of the unproven players like Laughton, + immediate 3rd line winger to fill roster stop + conditional 1st/2nd |

calgary need to do some work, moving out pieces like Iggy and Kipper are key.
realistically, they could move out a few big pieces at onces and do a rebuild in 1 year. sure you lose some big names that have been in Calgary for their career, but there becomes a point where its best for the player and the club to move on.
Sundin never retired a leaf and never got the leafs a package when he left, im sure he would do it differently if he could, so hopefully it doesnt come down to this point with Iggy and anyone else..
calgary HAS to pull the trigger at some point, better to do it before its too late. |

Dont see the Flyers parting with Schen or Courturier that ship has passed us for Iggy value. But Laughton, 2013 1st & a roster player(I would be OK with Rinaldo), plus a conditional 2014 1st or 2nd if he resigns with the Flyers. Personally, I'd do the deal now rather than later if its a decent offer. Partly because I would hate to be bubble & Feaster do nothing again at the trade deadline & I wouldnt want to risk an injury from preventing us from getting as much value as possible. |

Rough moments in the last two games aside, Luke Schenn has been a good addition to the Flyers. The "leading the team in giveaways" thing means very little out of context.
The context here is that he's playing on the top pairing (i.e., a lot of minutes) and his veteran partner, Kimmo Timonen, is laboring physically after returning from back surgery and not playing during the lockout. So Schenn is doing a little more puckhandling duty than he would if Timonen was closer to 100 percent. As a result, he's had more opportunities for turnovers.
Also, not all giveaways are created equal. Schenn had a real bad one the other night that ended up in the net a few seconds later. But most of his giveaways have been of the routine type along the boards where a chip-out attempt gets intercepted but there is still coverage to recover.
With Schenn, I worry a little more about his positional play -- picking his spots when to hit and when to hold his ground -- more so than excessive giveaways.

Colin Dambrauskas: Iginla to the Flyers?....Post Game Write up - Colin Dambrauskas
Iginla must have a NMC right? I don't know why he would wan to go to the Flyers right now, they are struggling. Obviously the Flyers have a good team and a bunch of young talented players that could get a deal done but I doubt Iginla would want to leave the Flames and take and take a leap of faith that the Flyers can turn it around fast enough to make the playoffs. The season is so short, even if the Flyers get back to their usual level of play it could be too late.
Trade him to Boston :lol
Edit: I guess the standings are closer than I thought, so if the Flyers can turn it around quick the trade becomes better looking for Iginla. I just see him going to a team that has had a better start if he would OK a move. |

That was nothing more than a Flyers jab Bill
I watched a lot of Schenn play as Im in the Toronto area and despite his give aways you're right, its his positional play that hurts him the most. He can be a SOLID contribution to any team if he effectly plays the body and moves the puck quick.

Depends on the timeline for Briere - I don't think PHI is going to give anything significant up until they know what's up with him.
You might as well start writing up trade offers to every team in the league as they would all like to add Iggy to their lineups. |

So what you're saying, essentially, is that it's just about too late for the Flyers and because they sit 3-6 so far that Iginla would ex-nay a move to the city of brotherly love? |

With Philly having defensive woes as well, they could pull off a massive trade and get both Iggy and J-Bo.
Calgary would have to take salary back, but could get an impressive list of assets for those two guys.... |
