Toronto has to play ugly and have great goal tending to compete with the best teams, been saying that for a long time. One thing about this team is that you can tell they're coached much better, and aren't running around their defensive zone nearly as much even when they're hemmed for long periods, like they did under Wilson. Reimer was been really good so far, and i'm not THAT surprised, always had confidence in him, even after he came back playing not so great after this injury last season. The time off has really helped him it seems, hopefully he can keep it up.
I think that's the mistake that the Leafs have to out muscle the Bruins to beat them. They have to out score them that's it.
Lots of smaller speedy teams have had success playing against Boston. You don't necessarily have to be tougher but some more tenacity to make plays happen and stick to the system.

Team is coached better.
Front 6 has skill, is young, but lacks size aside from JVR.
Goaltending is improving.
Defense is young, Kostka is fine for the top pairing at 5on5, but doesn't deserve PP1 unit time
The Habs generally fare well against Boston. Buffalo just lit Boston up. Carolina just off the top of my head is another tea that seems to do well against Boston.
Ya just looked up Carolina went 4-0 last year against Boston sans Jordan Staal and Semin. They played and aggressive speedy forecheck and their D pinched regularly.
The game last night when i was there kind of all over the place, good that they didnt get blown out but bourque's goal was terrible haha Kessel had so many chances and could not bury any, other than that the franson goal was a goal, the boston guy checked him into goalie kadri, that should have been a penalty not interference on the goal. Not too much offensive chances went on and REIMER i beyond stupid, on the powerplay and doesnt pass the puck he wastes so much time we we're behind the net and fans were screaming at him to pass the puck up. I dont think he knows how to chip the puck up to get a fast play going. Prime example when boston was changing lines for their PK, reimer just stood there with puck....
On a positive note, got to meet dougiee gilmour and that made my night and don cherry kissed him on cheek again
