What do you think happens with Matteu seems odd it is taking this long to decide unless Butler is the last guy they are trying and if he doesnt appear to be much better Matteu stays up ? |

I got a bad feeling, 2nd of a b2b and an afternoon game. Worst thing is if we drop this game we're in a bit of trouble with rags tb and Pitts on the horizon. |

Anyone check out Ek's blog what is your guys take on what Ovie is worth right now with that monster contract and declining numbers I have always been a big fan of the way he plays the game I don't wanna know what you guys think the caps would ask for him but what you think is fair value for him could be an interesting topic |

If they traded him the return would have to be huge. I don't buy into this crap of him not having a lot of value. Yes he has struggled but if he was on the market, a ton of GM's would be throwing big offers for him. |

Don't like the way we are playing...again. I think when you're as dependent on hard work every night it's tougher...especially in a condensed season. Not having as much talent as some teams but more defensive awareness, as DeBoer said you have to bring your "A" game against the high talent teams. Not that the Islanders are an example of a "high talent" team when compared to PIT or EDM. But they're dangerous now and playing very well as a team. And their top guy is leading them every night. We're not getting the same production out of our top guy.
We yielded too many big chances again in period 1. Moose was terrific. There's not enough talent here to control play for long stretches every night so our positioning has to be really good to succeed. It's falling off every game, possibly due to the grind of the schedule. Other teams can fall back on talent on their "B" or "C" nights. Right now, we can't. |

Too many penalties today. I also think the team has yet to establish their forecheck all season. Too many times the forwards are trying to carry the puck over the blueline. |

Strong third. Not just goals but much better defensively. Bernier showing the hands that made him a first round pick. |

It's the way he plays. Poised and relaxed. People had the same problem with Niedermayer in his earlier years |

Yeah I know, and I agree about Niedermayer. But I do think he is a step slower this year and is turning the puck over more than we'd expect. He had a brutal giveaway in the first period (backhand up the middle in his own end). Rust is a factor for a lot of guys still though..and having played just three games I'm sure he is no exception. |

He was solid besides the one turnover. His piste under pressure is unmatched, and he's so slick about getting out of the zone. |

We need more out of Travis and Kovy. Didn't like our top 2 lines today, didn't seem to be any chemistry between them. Kinda want Kovy to be back to LW, he could probably get a few more goals off the rush. |
