The people who said yes to trading Despres to Seto just want to make a trade for the sense of doing so without using logic about what the consequences would be. You don't trade a kid like him for some random forward. They must still think Seto is that 30-goal scorer in San Jose that is paired with Thornton. He isn't. He can't create anything; wouldn't create space for Sid or Geno and quite frankly doesn't bring much else to the table outside 19 goals and 39 points in an 82-game schedule. That is what he is now.

As for the game, there are some teams that shouldn't play Pittsburgh close based that do. Toronto and the Islanders are the two I'm talking about. It shouldn't be close, but it will.

Just too add hamonic may be in, currently skating in morning skate and tweeted he wouldn't say he could play if he couldnt.

Interesting this is carrying a little bit of weight. It all depends on what the Leafs would want. He would be a great, if not the perfect fit on Crosby's wing. Not many players have the speed AND scoring ability that will benefit Crosby's style of play.

I'll assume if Shero makes this trade he feels we can still sign 71 & 58. 30 goal scorer at 5 mill isn't bad. I'd love him on the team if we can fit everyone. The leaders on this team are our hardest workers so I don't think there would be any issues with him. Plus a players mindset changes when he is put in a position to contend for a cup. I agree this is picking up a little bit of legs. Interesting to say the least.

kinda funny it is brought up other than here.. i thought someone just felt like throwing his name around... if i had to guess, i would say TO would want a pick nhl ready D and D prospect... so there goes despres and maybe lovejoy and a 1st or 2nd... i doubt they would want a forward...

I was enjoying that ice level pic of Fleury's save on Lidstrom... and a couple pics later this one made me a little sad.


All of the skaters (besides Fleury) in the pic are now gone. Only Craig Adams is left from the 5 that Byslma put on the ice at the most crucial point in the game.

Perhaps Scuderi can find his way back. I still think he has a lot of game left. He made some goal saving plays last night in my limited viewing of the Kings game.
