What's up with the second line. Teemu, Ryan have been virtual no shows the first two games.

Opening weekend is sold out, so much for that fan backlash.

I've been having fun with Ducks fans about the amount of goals allowed. Jesus Christo people, 33% of Anaheim's top 6 have been with the team a week! They'll figure it out. I don't think the D will be as bad as Cloutier, Ek, and others have stated.
Ryan Getzlaf has returned! I haven't seen him this motivated since maybe the Hangover year. (Yes Kings fans, deny it all you want but it does exist). The boss obviously told him we ain't going anywhere so it looks like Murray will get him re-signed. Corey Perry scares me though, especially after that utterly ridiculous Travis Zajac contract. What can the Ducks do other than max him out now that the bar has been set? I wouldn't have a problem with it because he's the only Duck who's never taken a night off but I don't know if the Samueli's will OK that deal.

That line needs time to gel. Ryan and Teemu have played together at times, but never with Bonino at center. The three will get some chemistry eventually, or Holland/Rakell will replace Bones.

Either way, by the ten game point I think they will be clicking...same with our defense pairings.

No need to worry. Getzlaf will absolutely be re-signed probably somewhere between 6.5-7.5 per season. If Perry can't sign for around the same amount, he will be flipped at the deadline for a huge return (not that I want that to happen). I think they both will re-sign, somewhere around a combined 14 million per season. They could get more elsewhere, but not much more.

EDIT: They already make something like 11.5 combined, so really all the raise would be is taking the cash you are paying Lydman and diverting it to the Getz and Pears. Vatanen or Lindholm will be stepping into Lydmans spot next season, so its an affordable contract coming up to offset the pay raises.

Zajac had to be signed because the Devils couldn't afford another high-profile player walking. So far it looks like a good move by the Devils.

Being that Getzlaf is the same age as Zajac - 27- I can see the Ducks mirroring that contract. I do not believe Getz is worth more than the $5.75 million cap hit that Devs have from TZ.

Perry on the other hand should be in the $6-$7 million mark, ala Kovalchuk without the term length. The Ducks need to work this out and get these guys locked up.

What was ridiculous about signing one of our best players?

I hope those numbers are close to where they actually sign for, but I am worried that with all the hardware Perry has collected, his agent will be seeking something near Rick Nash's contract if not higher.

Murray better get them both under extentions soon or its going to be a media storm all season. I'm already sick of reading the rumors.
