wow is every flames fan desperate or what...doubt this kid would want to go to a sinking ship like the flames, might as well stay on long island...He would more likely do what j. schultz did and chose edmonton over 29 other teams in the league... |

Keep in mind....$1,925,000 in performance bonuses - Colin Dambrauskas
His cap hit is still 2.75 million no matter if he scores 1 goal or 50...
Thats why all these top picks the oilers have are really only getting a 2.5 million raise against the cap... |

He's not a free agent. His desires are pretty irrelevant at this point. |

He's 20, we get Seth Jones this year, Sam Rienhart next year and then Connor McDavid and he will be 23 on a young team ready to make a move.......... and he won't have to live in Edmonton and smell raw sewage day and night. |

Not that he has a choice but his buddy Sven is in CGY, why wouldn't he want to go. Plus, he might just get the best chance to play out of 29 teams.
As for the asking price. I would be very cautious. I said in the earlier post that CGY should offer Babchuk and Byron for Nino, Hickey and a 2nd or 3rd. My thinking is that the Isle need D and Babs can score. The cap hit is similar and they get a prospect that has done as much or more than Nino, despite draft pedigree. We get Hickey and the 2nd/3rd because we are the only ones giving up an NHL'r that despite his obvious deficiencies, does have offensive capabilities from the back end. Maybe I'm offering too little, but let's see where it goes from there. |

Oh ya im sure thats going to be the case. And anyway im sure Feaster will use those picks to take some unproven high school kid that should have gone in the third round bahahahahahaha. - faceoff
It astounds me how Oilers fans think they have anything to be proud of... It's like they think the stink of failure has somehow evaporated into thin air over the lockout...
Let me be the first to remind you that your team is still the basement dweller of the NHL until they can prove otherwise. Don't pretend like you're looking down on anyone at this point. |

don't forget that he'll be trading down in the draft to get those high school kids... - SpoiledByOil
And who did he pick with that extra 2nd rounder he got?
Nevermind... Who needs facts when you have rhetoric? |

Bouwmeester for Niederreiter. |

The Isles aren't going to trade Nino. Nino hasn't done s**t to earn the right to ask for a trade. He got his shot (he was rushed) in the NHL last year and was abysmal. This year, the team is actually doing right by him and letting him develop properly in the "A" and the kid gets the seeds to demand a trade because he wasn't invited to 2013 training camp.
They won't trade him. He'll be in Bridgeport the rest of the year and will get a fair look at camp in September. If he wants to keep pouting and whining, then he'll blow his chance at a roster spot next season. Funny thing is, he was in line to be a call-up towards the latter portion of this season when injuries inevitably happen, but after opening his big mouth, he probably just threw that call-up away. |

Drafting is more difficult when you don't always have the first pick, can't wait to see what Tambo does when he actually has to make a decision.
Not sure he got the best guy with any of his 1st overall picks.
Before you ask
2010 - Sequin (could be Tarasenko in the end)
2011- Landsekog
2012- Early I know, But Galchenyuk, Reilly, Grigs all looked better in Ufa |

If you think Bouwmeester's value is any higher than that, especially now that the cap is coming down next year, you're delusional. |

It hasn't even been three years since the 2010 draft, even less for the others, and you're saying with confidence you know who the best player to come out of each draft is?
These guys are in the infancy of their careers. Nobody knows who the best player is. Quit making pointless comparisons. |
