For some reason the Canucks seem to have problems with the Ducks. Whoever is in net for us tonight is going to have to be great. Not being a downer, its only game one, I say 4-2 Ducks, Perry with the trick and Selanne with the other on the PP. Burrows and Raymond for the Nucks.

Are the Canucks at all aware there is a salary Cap next year, and if they do, are they aware its not 400 million?

Serious question. It seems ignored to the point I wonder if its actually something nobody is aware of.

I await your 1967's and sexual oriented insults as well as apologies for your teams cap mismanagment.

Yes, I know, the two buy outs will solve all the problems, except for the part where I know they wont.

I think you're on crack. Good enough? Gilman is a cap master, it won't be an issue. Luongo will be traded, for whatever. Ballard will be traded for whatever. Problem solved.

Win this year and worry about next year, well, next year.

Gillis will get the Canucks under 64 million some how.

Toronto has 12 players committed to $42m in cap next season, that leaves an average of $2m for the remaining 11 spots to fill. Vancouver has 14 players committed to $60m for next season. Take out Lu and Ballard and its 12 players for $50.5m leaving an average of 1.2m per for 11 more spots. It will be a challenge no doubt.

Are you really that dense? 5mil a year for Edler is a very good contract.

Look at your own barn bud. You pay stupid amounts of money for your AHL team and you have the stones to come in here and spew your crap. We know you are the system troll but come on.

Gillis doesn't evn have to get rid of Ballard. LTIR just like he has done in years past .Deal with it. Leafs suck

With Lu / Ballard out of the picture after this season that should take care of a good chunk of the issue.

I thought there was only one compliance buyout next year. Then another the year after.

Mr. Systemtool, I believe you to be an intelligent enough guy to know that a lot of guys are coming off the books next year, add to that, Ballard and Luongo's combined $10 million dollar cap hit will be moved. Let the guys who have actual NHL management positions worry about it, I'm confident they know what they're doing.

There you are, everyone was wondering yesterday.

I had heard the same thing, but what about teams that have exercised one buyout this year already(NYR/MON), do they now have to wait until the 2013 off season?

First of all Lu will be traded .

Ballard can be put on LTIR with his concussion.

There are some fans out there that seem to think that every team will be buying players out left right and centre. I doubt it happens. Redden/Gomez are extreme situations, but I bet Canucks have zero compliance buy outs, the same goes for most teams. If I were Aquilini and Gillis came to me and said "we need to buy Luongo/Ballard out of their contracts in order to compete", I would tell him it's coming out of your salary!
