What about Andrew Cogliano? He used to be a center, doesnt he? |
|
|
|
i think the only way he sees anahiem is when chicago is playing the ducks out there.
the hawks have a large interest in him too. where would you go if you had to choose between the 2 plus a chance to play with hossa & sharp? |
|
|

I don't think it's a bad idea either, Steve, provided he can still skate. Also, the contract numbers would have to be decent but considering how much money he just made, I can't see that being too much of a problem.

Cogliano would be used as an injury back-up. They want him to play wing on Koivu's line. |

The guy is terrible at taking faceoffs and now is mostly on the wing. I'm only ok with gomez if he is the occasional scratch. I would much rather see bonino, holland and rakell getting used to nhl talent. |

Maybe he'd like to play in a place where it isnt as cold and has nice beach's near by. Not to mention why would Chi give him 2nd line minutes. |

He is clearly a third or even fourth line talent now. Chi would be crazy to do that. |

Plus Gomez will fit in, in the city of Anaheim. |

To me this a huge plus and if he can be grabbed on the cheap why not take a shot? He is still good for 3-5 points as a third line center. (last season - Koivu 38 pts., Getzlaf 57 pts.) The Ducks are in full-court-press mode in terms of making the playoffs. Sometimes it's a gamble like this that will pay off the most in the end. - Steve Palumbo

But what about as a fourth line center, which is where the Ducks would play him? He would most likely be skating with Devante Smith-Pelley and Brad Staubitz. |

Yeah, he could live near 17th St. in downtown Santa Ana.

He's 4'0", doesn't hit, doesn't shoot the puck, is terrible on the draw, had 0 goals 5 on 5 last year, 2 on the PP (which I doubt he would get time on in Anaheim). I just don't see what benefit you think he would bring other than experience, which frankly, doesn't guarantee you wins. |

No, he is not a 4th line center. He belongs in the ECHL. |
