Dallas would be foolish to give up Benn. If Nonis can pry him outta there - he's God. |

jeez. even burke knows benn > luongo.

Leafs get Benn
Leaf Fans reacton: Good Move by the Leafs
Rest of Hockey fans on Hockey Buzz: LOL LOL LOL Jaime Benn is a bust the Leafs made a stupid move should have gotten Luongo instead. |

Though I agree it is Benn they should be going after, I don't believe for a moment Dallas would trade Benn. If they did, the Leafs would have to give up Gardiner ++ |

Not going to happen but I'd take Benn all day before bobby. The more I think of that contract I'd rather miss the playoffs (again) and use a high first round pick on a goalie.

Doubt it. Dallas ownership said they want to keep Benn there long term.
Meanign they'll match an offersheet and won't trade him. |

I'd give up Gardnier to get Benn any day.

Eklund: Are Leafs Actually Targeting Jamie Benn? Subban Update.. - Eklund
Well like there is few expendables with Kadri getting a full time roster spot. I am not saying this would be enough to pry Benn nor do I think these are the needed players from Dallas POV. So having said that, the expendables are: Lupul, Frattin, Steckel, Fraser or Holzer. I think Lupul + is a good starting point. or Kessel straight up. true Kessel has had more production but BEnn brings so many intanguibles, it's not even funny. The guy is a true stud.

Id keep Kessel. mid 20's, 6th overall in points last year. Keep him for now. Id trade the rest of those misfits for Benn anyday, Dallas probably wouldnt. |

That was the point.
Throwing 2 words like Benn and Leafs in the same sentence would bring tremendous hits while everyone knows Dalls will never give up Benn. Who in their right mind would? |

Leafs dont have the horses to land Benn. Unless your talking about trading Kessel straight up.
No way Nonis trades any 1sts |

GM Dave Nonuts will quickly learn that Dallas's asking price for Benn is just as steap if not more steap than the Canucks asking price for Lou.
You want a quality star impact player, you've got to pay a premium.

I agree.
A 34 year old with a 10 year contract has the exact same value as a young free agent.
Gotta love Casuck fans. |

Kessel should be moved. When he is a UFA he will not resign in Toronto. He does not like the media attention. Besides Kessel screams Burke move. Every GM likes to put a stamp on a team.
Edit.
Green Bay traded Favre. Then they traded what they got for Favre (Draft pick) so the ugly memory would not be followed. Kessel should be moved to wipe out the BB era. I like BB and Kessel. But its how things are done. |

Sure champ, sure.
1-2 jab, 1-2 jab.
Lets use a high first rounder on a goalie. |

Oh and forgot to mention, but it pretty much goes without saying, Dallas trading Benn will never happen. |

Subban really? Every other insider, station, columnist says they are miles apart. Now we are talking about an 8 year deal when Bergevin has been sticking to his guns of a 2-3 year deal and won't go to 5-6 years |

How much is Subban asking per year? Why dont the Habs want to lock up their young stud long term? |
