I\'m curious why this was allowed by the Sabres in the past, and what\'s changed. As soon as Lucic ran Miller, there should have been 5 guys that did not allow him to leave the ice without the use of a stretcher. So, let\'s say Ott is out against him (I don\'t see Scott\'s line matching up with Lucic); okay, so that\'s still 1 guy that would go after him, and as much as I like Ott, I don\'t see him whooping Lucic. If they didn\'t go after him, the other option is to take that little rat Kaleta and him have \"trip\" into Thomas\' knees...but I don\'t see why that would happen this time around.

Look, I know it\'s a change, and that the Sabres are a grittier team. I just still don\'t see them as a \"tough\" team to compete with team like Boston, Philadelphia, or even the Rangers.

Thanks for you post, and by all means you are allowed to express your thoughts.
However, the Sabres have more tough players than you think!
We all (Sabres fans) believe that overall we have tougher team than last year!
You believe what you want to believe!

If Grig stays in the NHL we could have three very decent lines... We might suprise alot of people..

Not to mention if Myers and Ehrhoff have big years..

But it all comes down to that whine ass Miller... If he plays well.. Sky's the limit.

I understand the Sabres have a tougher team than last year. And for a team that was considered soft, they needed to go in that direction. But past Ott and Scott (assuming he plays), there is no one on the team who I could see answering the bell and not getting murdered by a guy like Lucic. I've always been a fan of the Sabres (when I get the other team's feed; that's another story) and hope they do well when they don't play the Flyers. I just don't think that they got the right guys to be tough enough...but it's a step.

Actually, it's kind of funny you mention that. Prior to the "Bullies" years, the Flyers got pushed around by the Big Bad Bruins, and got pummeled every time they played St. Louis. After St. Louis crushed them, Ed Snider stormed into the GMs office and told them he never wanted to see the team get pushed around again...and the rest is history. So it's pretty much the same thing as Buffalo, but they took it to extremes...there's a happy medium somewhere between what the Sabres did now and the Flyers did then.

Foligno, and Tropp was going to be one of those guys before his injury.

But we are moving in the right direction
Besides Ott and Kaleta, don't forget Foligno and at some point McNabb will both also bring added physical games to the team
Scott will play here n there and make his presence felt,
But the above guys I've mentioned that will be playing regular shifts will be the ones that really help
Also, gerbe is scrappy for a little guy, expect McCormick to come back swinging, and even though it won't be till next year bc of the injury- don't forget all the grit that Tropp will bring to the line-up as well

And it's possible Armia is allowed to join the Sabres after his team in Finland is finished

I'd just like to say sorry if I offended anyone. I think the Sabres will be one of the most interesting teams this year.
Any word on Tyler Myers and how he's doing? Love watching that dude play, and I know he got injured earlier.

Guys a great player I wish the Sabres had him, maybe he will pound the crap out of Kaleta so I don't have to look and see him anymore.

True,
I think he spends next year in Rochester as well though
He's a little bit of a project,
But has huge 2way potential
They've been mostly playing him in the wing down there too,
So we'll see how he develops

I guess u & I are just destined to butt heads
Kaleta is a 4th line guy
He provides grit, for which he is one of the 5 most hated guys to play against in the league (which is a good thing IMO)
He is a decent penalty killer also

I could see the issue if he was being played on the 3rd line,
But as a 4th line role player?
I like him just fine
Not sure what more u want/ expect out of him?
Along those lines, what 4th line guy do we have that provides more than he does?
