I like speculation, because it creates good discussion when people aren't being morons and Richard's

I like when you make up rumors Clout's, it brings out the trolls and the entertainment begins.

obviously didn't hear the interview of Kruger talking about eager... hey? Or Eager him self being interviewed?

I doubt the oilers make any moves other than getting a physical dman to replace sutton.

The Oilers have all kinds of time for the Ben Eager they thought they signed as a UFA. I think he, like 5 or 6 other guys are auditioning this season for the next 3 to 5 seasons with the team. Eager has 20 games or do to save himself in Edmonton.

Kruger said he wants a fast game.. eager is a energy player who also had a faster time around the rink than hall and came into this camp in better shape. Kruger said he is excited to use eager and petrell and wants everyone to play 10mins a night. I don't really care if he fights as long as he hits hard. And i agree he has this year to proove he wants to play on the team in the future. If he can live up to his potential it will be a soldi 4th line if he and jones are on it. both play hard and can skate. last year was a right off for eager since he got hurt in joey moss cup game. I'm just glad hockey will be played in a week or so.

I agree. I regularly read Clout's blog (and Barry's) because regardless of the blog, the comments and discussion are always entertaining.

With regards to trolls, I'm a die hard Leafs fan at school living in Edmonton, so I'm used to being trolled on a regular basis (even by random people if I'm wearing my Leafs Jersey)... as far as I'm concerned, any discussion is a good discussion!

I admire you passion to keep cheering for a team that has sucked for so long and stick with them rather than jumping on some cindy crosby bandwagon or something. Ah (frank), cheering for a team that has sucked for so long, did I just describe myself.

Got to keep reminding of the greatness of the wall of fire to come
Just picked up Eberle and Nail in my fantasy draft. Had a chance at Hall, but that was an easy pass. Nail was like my 2nd last pick, so I just had to do it.

Its not the easiest to deal with fans of teams such as the Canucks at work who are more interested in a monologue than an actual discussion, but I think that with Oilers fans at least there is the mutual misery (though not for long with your guys).

On the other hand, I was born and raised just outside of Manchester, and so am a life-long Manchester United fan, so there's enough success there to keep me happy while the Leafs keep me honest

Nick Shultz is in the prime of his career. I really hope we resign him and Smid to similar deals. Somewhere in the range of 4 year deals around 4 million a piece.

IMO I wouldn't get rid of him if I was the Oilers. Really big fan of how the D settled down last season after they dealt Gilbert for Schultz.

Hey just don't mention Yakupov getting traded..even if it's only speculation it freaks the crap out of people that Oilers would use such a dynamic explosive player to fill a team need. .First oilers NEED more goal scoring scoring..And, there will be lots of free agents soon wanting to come to edmonton..

If he is willing to take the same amount of money 3.5 mil to 4 mil for 4 years I'd keep him. Stable veteran D-man are hard to find if Whitney re finds his form I'd keep him for 3 years for the same money we are paying Schultz. Youth is great but we need some players with game experience and usually it's smart to have those players on D. Schultz,Schultz,Petry,Whitney,Smid. That's not a horrible 5 outta 6 d-men maybe try and part with picks and prospects to bring in the missing d-man.

Sadly Getz will never come to Canada I'm friends with his sister-inlaw and he likes not being noticed every time he goes out. But that being said he's be the perfect #2 fit.
