The B's should be sending gift cards to Burke right about now. I think he needs the support. |

I'd like to see Spooner get a shot and, if he does well, give him a chance to be promoted, especially if Lucic comes out of the gate slowly. No, you don't permanently want a $6M player on your 3rd line, but I think Claude would do well to give him a wake-up call. He may come out gangbusters, but his game has eroded a bit in my opinion, simply because I think he's trying to act like a skill winger when his true value is banging the boards and going to the front of the net (and I mean front of the net, not off to the side looking for tips). He seems to have lost some of what got him to where he is. |

I'll be more disappointed if its Jay Pandolfo - Double_A
Ditto.
If Tardif makes the team, good for him. He's had a great season in Providence.
Wingz4life would just be jealous that they lost Tardif for no return ... Which they did.
Worst case scenario is that Tardif is a leader in Providence ... Best case is that he's a serviceable replacement on the 3rd line in Boston.
It's really a win / win, no matter how it shakes out. |

I predict it will be Bourque, his AHL numbers and probable motivation for one last shot at the NHL would be enough for me to go with him. It will be a cool moment in B's history when he takes his first shift. Yeah that was corny, sorry. - GSDIV
I tend to agree with your assessment, however, I'm just not convinced he has the goods to make it in the NHL. Proper motivation and being in Boston might give him the drive he needs though. |

Like Ty said in the blog, he could be an AHL all-star and a NHL scrub. But I think he is the best candidate to start with and if he tanks then bring someone else in. It is a strange situation with Caron out and the shortened season.....ordinarily you could roll with Bourque for 20 games and it would be no big deal but now it is almost half the season. |

Maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised and it will be Spooner who makes the jump.
I'm still pulling for Cyclops. |

I would like to see Bourque or Spooner to start the season. |

Keep on pulling ... Cause he's going nowhere.
