Gillis has said many times he will only trade if it helps the team . Why would we break up a solid goalie tandem for a RW who scores 13 goals @4.5 mil per. Raymond is cheaper faster and better looking.

Highly doubt Rielly will be dealt for those two guys specifically. Only way someone like Rielly is dealt is for a legitimate superstar who hasn't hit their prime yet.

if the speculation is right and the asking price for Luongo was Gardiner and Kadri according to Bob McCowan and Burke fell on the sword instead of making the deal then Burke is a Saint.

I would just wait for Vancouver to buy him out at the end of the season. Taking him off your hands is a favor, i cant see that much going back if he is traded.

And how much of Luongo's contract would Vancouver be absorbing?

They're allowed to take up to 50%, right? Because maybe replacing Rielly with Percy and the 2nd with a 3rd, and with 50% of Lu's contract staying in Vancouver, and having a prospect like Kassian or Gaunce coming back would make it a worthwhile deal.

I'm thinking Gillis gets Rielly or Gardiner in the deal.

I can't see the Leafs moving Gardiner if the plan is to make the playoffs this year. they need him.

Rielly is a couple years out of making an impact. I could see him being moved and Gillis is pretty stuck on getting a 1st rd pick in the deal.
