If they dont want to play here, then why make them.

This is another reason the lock out was bad. It let these guys know how ez it is to just go home and play and still make really good money. Play on hometown teams and get paid. This isnt just towards the Russians though. Look at Oreilly from the av's. Got paid bank to play in the KHL. If the price is to much for the av's he's likely to stay in Russia.

You do not buy him out. You keep him under contract and sue him for breach. This costs him millions, and that is the one thing
OV likes more than himself.

This is a really bad blog. Caps fans should be down on their knees, witg their mouths open welcoming him back. Not spinning his poor english against him. Ask any Habs fan if they wish they'd have kept their mouths shut when Pat Roy got a little cranky. He's still one of the top 5 players in the world and you get to watch him wear a Caps jersey. Don't turn on him just yet

Bull. He did this to himself. It isn't "bad english". It is "not know when to StFU".

The Habs will suck for this year and next, this proposal hurts them more than helps.

He didn't say anything that should make anyone worried, not sure at the point of this blog. He wants his contract honored, period. X dollars for X years. Oh, he gets that you say? He won't be going anywhere. He hopped a plane hours after getting confirmation of the deal and it not affecting his contract. All is well, people can rest easy (or angry, depending on how you feel about him).

His English is horrible and he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. What more do you expect? He enjoyed having the opportunity to play in front of his family and friends, and people are damning him for it?

Relax everyone. He knows where his job is.

Also, he played pretty good while away. Some nice vintage ovie highlight stuff. He's ready for the season and I expect him to lead the league in goals again, unless Stamkos says something about it.

This wasn't entirely directed at his recent comments but more the cumulative worry that has piled up over the last couple seasons. In his defense, he has played well at home and does seem irked about the potential hit his contract may take not about a being back in DC. But the concerns are that he has become more and more irked during the team's recent struggles. He is frustrated by this current lockout, but he is also frustrated by the past playoff failures and internal turmoil. The saving grace in all of this Will be OV rediscovering his love for playing in the NHL and for him to live up to the C on his chest.

He's proven a lot, but to prove he is a winner, a Stanley Cup winner, he has more work to do.

Um, where is the bad english in "I have played my last game as a Canadien"???? Roy said he wanted to leave and the vast majority of people (Roy included) wanted to stay. The GM dumped him not the fans
