I don't care about fans trying to send a message and not supporting the league. I'd happily take a 52 game schedule this year and know I'm going to have hockey for 5-10 more years. Just bring it back.

I think that it's not that far off from being settled. If the PA can't make this work, then it's their fault. They should at least, take a vote on the current offer from the NHL. If this season is lost, it's going to send the smaller markets into crisis mode. I am expecting to see this tied up, within a week.

The ironic thing is if we all really want to see NHL hockey, we don't visit NHL blog sites, read coverage, watch endless interviews with guys guessing what's going to happen etc.

As long as we care, they will be in no hurry to play again, because they know they will continue to grow revenue.

It's apathy that will end the lockout.

Yes, players are greedy for wanting what the owners already gave them and now want to take back.

They dont care whether you care or not. If they did, they never would have lost a full season last time around and wouldnt have let this lock out get this far.

More importantly, there is nothing fans can do to make their point right now. Do you honestly think the NHL and the NHLPA are sitting there giggling like school girls because of the hits these blog sites get? Or how many people are tuning into TSN/Sportsnet.

Fans need to get over their insignificance in this process and stop trying to find ways to make themselves relevant.

Definitely in the leafs best interest to lose this entire season

They get a good shot at a high draft pick in a great draft year, they get time to develop a deep prospect pool, and they don't even have to go through the embarrassment of losing to try and accomplish all that.

If you take what every team made and lost last year and add it together you would have enough to give each team 6 million dollars. A whole buncha players in the league make more than that. It's about realizing what is good for the game.

It makes me sick that we could be watching hockey right now if the star players (it's not the third and fourth line guys) said "hey I don't care too much if my salary goes from 8 million a year to 6 million a year."

If I got a pay cut I would be forced to find a second job. These a$$holes just might have to fire a few maids.

YES! I've been saying this all along:

I WANT THIS SEASON CANCELLED!

Yes I'm being selfish, I don't care. I'm a Leaf fan and I've got damn good reason for being selfish.

They dont get as good of a shot as you think. Check out the last lockout lottery for details. Sure the Pens won, but the other teams in the Leafs current position didnt fare near as well.

Its also baffling that so many fans think this team has improved so much that by playing a season, half a season really, that they have vaulted themselves out of lottery pick range and into contention.

they get a couple extra balls in the lottery

still could very easily end up picking 15th

no guarantee of a high pick

There is no benefit for the leafs....... they would be 1 of 7 teams (assuming same rules as 2005) with 3 balls, and no guarantee of not dropping into the 20's.

in 2005 4 teams had 3 balls.... they ended #1, 6, 13, and 16 (NYR traded their 16th pick+ for #12)
