So not to cause too much concern but I'm seeing reports that Giroux headed to Atlanta to a concussion specialist.

I realize that some heads need to get knocked together to get through this lockout but Giroux was not on my list.

Here's hoping it's not that serious.

He had a neck stinger overseas, and took a flight back to the US to see this doctor. That he was allowed by doctors to take a flight suggests it's not a concussion. The appointment must be precautionary, due to him having suffered a concussion previously.

Jason Babin released by the 3-8 Eagles, claimed by the 2-9 Jaguars.

Why is Andy Reid releasing players anyway? He's a dead man walking.

Bill what do you think of the WHL dropping the hammer on the Portland Winterhawks?

"As a result of a series of player benefit violations which have occurred over the past four seasons, WHL Commissioner Ron Robison has suspended the Portland Winterhawks from participating in the first five rounds of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft and the forfeiture of their first round selections in the 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 WHL Bantam Drafts. Should the first round selection in 2014 not be available due to a conditional trade, Portland will surrender their second and third round picks in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The WHL also announced the Portland Winterhawks have been fined $200,000 and Winterhawks General Manager and Head Coach Mike Johnston has been suspended for the balance of the 2012-13 season, including the 2013 WHL Playoffs."

To give younger players a chance to play. He was halfway to Jacksonville everytime he ran past the quarterback this year anyway. Let him kiss his "guns" down in Florida.

They are hardly the only team guilty of that sort of thing, but they must have been really blatant about it.
