Brutal news about Merrill for Devils fans. Heck of a prospect. With last season and this season all but lost for him its gonna be tough to ever live up to the high expectations and make the NHL.

Todd look at the highlights for the goals. All four goals against him in the Penguins game were one-timers from right in front of the net. He always makes like two or three saves he has absolutely no business on.

If he gets a good defense in front of him, he will post some outstanding numbers. Go to theahl.com and then click on the AHL Live all the way to the right, and it will lead you to highlights. I can't blame him for the goals he let in, both him and Frazee. If it wasn't for them, some games may be 7 or 8 goals against.

I saw the saves. I'm just saying, at some point he's gotta steal a game and make an extra save or two. Is it a lot to ask? Yes, but they would have a couple more wins if they could do that.

I haven't watched many games at all, but this has to be a coaching a problem. I didn't expect a championship but last place? There's no way we're this bad.

They lost 5 shootouts, so that has something to do with it. I'm not really quite sure where the blame comes from, a lot of times its allowing wide open chances and the coach can't be playing the games for the players. I don't know if it's bad coaching or just the fact that the players aren't executing defensively.

When the Devils are playing well, they are scoring and they are in their games. Had they won half or most of their shootouts, they'd either be in 8th or right around there.
