Too many of us will be back, without a second thought, waiting for the puck to drop. The league will have learned nothing regarding the fans displeasure. Sad but true, diehards for life!

The league will learn nothing from the fans' displeasure because there's nothing to learn. The NHL, like any other form of entertainment, is a want, not a need. The people who enjoy watching and attending NHL hockey will come back because they love it. Nobody is going to punish themselves to make a delusional nonexistent moral stand. Will it suffer from losing the "casual fan"? Perhaps, but I don't think that hurt will come into play until January or February anyway. Few people really give the NHL a serious look until football season ends anyway.

Your passion for hockey, and the Sabres, is obvious.

Having missed the playoffs, it's been a long time since you saw a Sabres game.

I feel your pain and I implore you to hang in there and not lose your passion.

There's a light at the end of the tunnel, however faint it may be!

I haven't missed hockey at all personally. Maybe when football season ends and only basketball remains I'd long for some hockey, but I wouldn't care if they started the season around New Year's every year and had like a 50 game season. 9 months of hockey is too much.
