I disagree. Cant wait to see the #1 take on the #2 and #3 (when healthy). Renew the rivalry!

Was that Tyler Kennedy with a big RBI double Sunday night against the Detroit Tigers.
Nah, it was the Giants’ Brandon Belt, seen here. Too much of a reach?

BTW, coach Dan Blysma was at the Springsteen concert just a few seats away from me. I have his picture on my cell phone and will try to get it up later. Concert was a monumentally powerful affair with fist pumping acknowledgement by the entire crowd. It was a cross between a revival meeting and rock extravaganza. Good times.

Just watching coverage of Sandy at the bar in Italy tonight, hopefully everyone made it through safe. Doesn't look like Pitt was a direct hit but nonetheless, hope everyone is OK.

Sheets of rain and howling wind all night. Not good sleeping weather. Lots of trees down, still have power, closer to the coast much worse. It is like armageden in NY and the coast of Jersey, unbelievable destruction.

Nice. Can you imagine the threat TK would present if he had Belt's size?

Bylsma really commits to the community. He sat through an entire 9-inning Pirates game in the first row behind the home plate net, despite the team getting shut out 12-0 or so. Impressive loyalty.

He had some good training in patience and butt whoopings via the Flyers playoff series last year.

He has a ring too.... whoops. I'm amazed at the joy of flyers fans get from that one playoff series win. I could see if your team went on to win something, but you LOST the next series. I don't know about your team, but going out in the second round in Pittsburgh is a MAJOR failure.

Is winning a cup that much of a distant memory that one series win seems like such an accomplishment? 1975, yes I guess it would....got to take what you can get.

I imagine it must be like Pirate fans. Most of the current younger fans were either too young or sperm to remember anything of importance.

I have no coaching experience, but if I was personally coaching a team with two players that are widely acknowledged as the #2 and #3 players in the world, then I bet I could win a cup as well.

So he has learned success and humility - good that you point that out. Success from his cup run, and humility from the Flyers butt whooping.

Let me guess your boy Giroux who has never won a scoring title, major awards, MVP, Cup, 100pt season or anything else of significance is your #1?

Hopefully his wrists heal up by 2013-14 season. Maybe he can put up 30 goals.

I am sure he knows that Giroux is not on the same level as the two best players in the world. He is just yankin' y'alls chains.

All joking aside, hope y'all safe from the storm.

Things are not too good in the areas I am seeing.

We can bust each other all day - but I feel bad for many of the people who lost their homes, injured, etc.....

Here is what I'll say. I grew up playing a lot of basketball. The best team player I ever saw was Magic Johnson, in that he could move the defense to create passing lanes. His exceptinal skill wasn't that he could just move his defender, but also defenders of his teamates. Then he was a sensational passer on top.

Giroux reminds me of that type of exceptional player. He can move his defenders, and create space/openings for his teamates. With incredible passing. You can't take anything away from players like Crosby, Malkin, Weber or even Chara. I just think G excels in a different way than those guys, and in a way I appreciate. I hope that makes sense.
