Even if the Leafs feel they can't sign Lupul.... you trade him for something else than Luongo.
You're allowed to dream though. |

Reasons why Luongo would want to be a Leaf:
1) nobody else wants him, so its go to Toronto or stay in Vancouver
Yeah, just one reason lol. Is it the real reason? We'll find out I guess. |

And something else Leafs fans need to wrap their head around is they are not the only pony in this race. There are four teams with an interest in Luongo, and that is just the teams we know of. - IanEsplen
Oh, I know, Ian!
At least four!
And by four, I think we all know you mean twelve!
I'd love to stay and chat, but my phone is ringing off the hook - at least seven teams want to trade for Komisarek! Good in the dressing room, and he provides a good cap hit for teams looking to reach the floor!
Happy Friday, my Canucklehead friends. |

My Guess is it is going to be Kadri. I believe Toronto Management has soured on him ever reaching his potential. Sure he has great hands and some offensive pop, but his lack of dedication to his fitness, and growth in the 3 years he has been apart of this organization show his true character.
And Kadri would be thrilled knowing he is going to the Land of B.C. BUD, Guy is a stoner x 10
To Tor: Luongo
To VAN: Kadri, rights to Franson |

Why Would Lu want To Be a Leaf? - IanEsplen
well going on the chatter in the Augello thread the past year, the Leafs are pretty stacked. their AHL club was in the Calder final. |

I can see him wanting to play for Toronto....Luongo actually likes the attention and wouldn't it look good on his resume if he could take the crap Leafs to the playoffs and turn the franchise around? He did here. |

Yeah, because there is nothing beyond hockey in these guys, and their families lives. I mean, there is absolutely no difference between living in Columbus, Ohio, and Toronto. That much is clear. I think if you give every woman the choice between Columbus and Toronto, 99.9% would just shrug their shoulders and say “I don’t care”.
It’s clear that Luongo has his choice of 29 cities to play and live in. So, he can take his time, and be picky. After all, what team wouldn’t want Luongo and his contract?

He'll hold out for Florida until the bitter end! If that doesnt' work out, I could see him playing in Columbus before Toronto. They've got more young talent than Toronto and he wouldn't have to deal with the media. |

He never would have been a Canuck in the first place in that case.
I'm sure being a backup for you guys carries a tonne of that, as well. |

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see a whole lot of difference in those two teams. But then again, maybe the lure to work on his skating with Barb Underhill means more to Lu then it does to me.
He is sick of 2 SISTERS , NO CUP and the Very Original Green Men |

As someone who has 17 restraining orders issued against him, I can definitely say:
It isn't enough to want to be with someone.
If they don't want you, even camping out on their front lawn won't make a difference. |

I love how easily you can ignore one of the worst contracts going. Lu is what 34? His best years are gone.
The only way he will hold any sort of significant value is if the CBA address the issue so the contract is less of a risk. That includes the risk of Vancouver getting stuck with his cap hit after he retires. Then he would be worth something.
To even suggest Lupul even as a rental is rediculous. Unless the Leafs can easily ditch him why would they even want Luongo? He couldn't get it done in his prime with a very talented Vancouver team what makes anyone think he's a good investment in a struggling Leafs squad in his twilight years?
Luongo isn't and never has been the answer in Toronto. |

Unless, i'm very much mistaken. I don't think Columbus can just say a late first? Otherwise Pittsburgh may not get a pick. |
