Thought Sulz played great down the stretch for Buffalo paired with Erhoff. It will be interesting to see who challenges for the 6th D spot between him, Weber and Pardy.

The good news was that Sulzer played well with Ehrhoff last year.

The bad news was that Sulzer only played well with Ehrhoff last year.

Well, that really boosts your confidence that the lockout is about to end...

Really?

Sulzer couldn't wait 5 more minutes for the new CBA?

That was my thought. I was hoping that there was more information, such as: he knows that this is going to be the last chance to see his family for a while, so he is taking the opportunity to visit before camp starts in 10 days, or perhaps:he is heading home after speaking to the player representative for the NHLPA based on feedback on the proposal from the league having major shortfalls.

Regardless, if the players dont work with the 50/50 split and them keeping the value of their contracts, then screw every last one of them. It is on their shoulders at this point.

Oh, and F the Sens.

Are you really looking for CBA negotiation indicators based on Alexander Sulzer signing in Germany? We don't even know if he'll make the roster when/if the season starts.
If Ryan Miller just signed on to a European team today I'd be a little more concerned.

The Sabres signed him to a one-way deal this summer. Any contracted player signing elsewhere is an indicator.

The fact that his contract negotiations were most likely done before the NHL's proposal was announced, obviously make it less impactful. But anyone jumping ship from this point forward could indicate that the NHL/NHLPA negotiations won't be settled soon.

Great for us fans to see the offer, but to see the actual full offer you would have had to click the "See a detailed explanation of the proposal", otherwise you just see the overview like is posted.

Garth: thanks for posting this.

Pretty solid offer from the NHL if you ask me. A deal should get done

I'd be OK if he signed a two year deal and play out that contract in Europe

If Sekera has sick trade value... Miller's value is the plague

Assuming this deal gets worked out in the 9-10 day time period the NHL has allotted and a full season starts November 2nd, would the Sabres still be able to give Grigs a 9 game tryout a la Tyler Myers even though the Q season is already well underway?
- Pierceme69

I'm not sure but they won't. They really dont think he is ready. Ive been told no chance he starts up here.
- Homer

It would be dumb not to give him a look . right now it looks like QMJHL is too easy for him he's needs tougher competition
