I was hoping Rockford would have played better against the Wolves especially with so many players that have NHL experience. Oh well some hockey is better than no hockey.

We need to stop the lockout so we can start some Lack to the hawks rumors...

At least Morin is scoring some goals. Hopefully he keeps that up and makes it an easy decision if they need to bring up someone to play LW on 2.

I think Kruger also hit the post in the first period last nite - maybe he's figuring out where the net is.

JJ, do you share Eklund's optimism about this week's CBA talks?

I've been disappointed so many times this off-season, I give up trying to think about it at all.

He and Schroeder were the best players on the ice. Maybe Lack as well.

All will note, I have been on record that Morin, and not Saad, should be the rookie LW on the Hawks this year.

Is Lack ready for the NHL? ( if they ever come back)

Not going to pretend to be remotely as wired in . . . what I hear is the owners have a timetable for getting a deal done and that date approaches—not inconsistent with what I read from Ek.

Got a txt this AM from a source who spoke with a player over the weekend, they are not backing down. The arc of this thing feels to me to be the owners ultimately getting some concessions but they will end up fairly compromised versus where their first "offer" was. This thing has been and is about the owners trying to gain concessions, period. It's really up to them when they want to play hockey.

Just when I had forgotten how crummy AHL hockey was, this weekend served as a perfect reminder

Ya. I mean...he's had a better AHL career than Schneider so far.....He's still got a bit of maturing to do but I see him as a number 1 NHL starter in a few years. It might be another Luongo Schneider situation Than there's Cannata who'll take Lacks place.....an embarrassment of riches at the goaltending position for us.

Even if Morin doesn't get recalled this season (assuming there is one) I'd still like to see Saad spend a full season in Rockford before being recalled.

Morin brings a lot of what the Blackhawks could use (grit, scoring) and if he could make the team, even in a middle-six role, it would help ease the pain of trading Byfuglien (even if only a little).

What would you give up for Lack? I think he'll be a solid NHL starter when he gets his opportunity.

He plays with a lot of energy and is surprisingly physical for a kid billed strictly as a scorer coming up. And yes, he can really shoot the puck.

Just a general question about the lockout as I check in here periodically...

Why hasn't at least one side clamored for an independent arbitrator? It seems improbable that both sides demand a resolution that lopsided and the side that proposes this would gain much public sympathy if it was rejected.

It would be a quick end to any labor dispute.

Yup. But is he still a threat to get clocked with his head down every night?

BTW watching Saad on that shootout was saaad... I coach 4-7yo soccer and always tell them not to shoot at the goalies legs...

Interesting to note that one Olesz is no where to be found...Not listed on the Hawks site as a rostered player, and not listed for Rockford.

God willing he gave up and went back to whatever lot he owns on crap island...

If I remember correctly he's recovering from surgery, knee surgery I think.

Olesz: wasn't the knee surgery two years ago by now?

Hope Rose doesn't take that long.

I think he was hurt again, but don't quote me on that. Olesz is on the Blackhawks site, he's on the AHL/ECHL depth chart as the 5th RW, he's also listed on the "Prospects/In the system" roster page.
