ESPNNY.com's Katie Strang reports Andrew MacDonald will play for HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Czech Extraliga. MacDonald hasn't ever competed as a pro overseas.
Islanders D-men Lubomir Visnovsky (KHL), and Mark Streit (Swiss National A League), and (former teammate) Milan Jurcina (Czech Extraliga) have already signed in Europe
