Proofreading helps. Just saying. - oniremosewa
When the Flames are basically as good as the habs all time, you dont need to proofread. God has blessed you with your own language. |

I generally proof read all my blogs, but havnt for any of these "All Time" blogs...no one is seemingly reading them anyways.
I'll skim through, but if there are errors outside of grammar or style, please let me know. |

Since the Habs bloggers cant be bothered to do one of these, please do another update to let me know how marginal the all time habs RW are.
Thanks,

Listen, dont get your panties in a twist...saying the players chosen for the Flames All Time Team is "sad" is a much better location than what I offered.
Yes, Les Habitants had some better players overall...but the Flames had some great ones too. |

you don't think that the list of forwards you provided (Note, it was not those CHOSEN, but those offered as a list) as the best a 40 year old team could come up is a sad commentary on the Flames history-long search for a center?
Edit, then going on to say they rival the best centers of all time from the habs is asinine. |

Youre putting words in my mouth. I never said they "rivaled" the Habs top four list. What I offered was to defend your notion that the list of centers the Flames had were "sad".
I listed the top 12 centers from the Habs, and taking the top four from each group I noted that while the Canadiens were obviously better, they were not, imo, miles better.
There is no question the list of HOF's Montreal has to offer is better, but it's a tough comparison as the top centers listed for Calgary played in a different era where there were more than 6 teams.
Either way, the Habs are awesome, your centers are better. |

Anyways, not to hijack the thread or anything but as a lifelong Flames fan (well since 1980 at any rate) I can honestly say that there was no right winger I liked less than Ron Stern. Hated the trade that brought him here, hated the stupid penalties he took, hated his stupid giveaways and hated the way he relentlessly punished opposing enforcers' fists with his head.
A feared fighter? I disagree, unless one was just afraid of what the aftermath would be when Stern was constantly thrashed. Just another piece of the puzzle that precipitated our long decline into mediocrity. |

I was dancing in the street when he went to the Sharks!
I also was cheerful when Leeman was sent to the Habs. |

Not at all! We just have to agree to disagree over Ron Stern.
On a more positive note, I fondly recall the season where Lanny hit 66 goals and the sign in the stands tallying up his total. Sadly that would be the season some no-name called Gretzky hit 92 goals or something stupid.
How awesome was it when Sergei Makarov joined us? Insanely talented player!
I remember as well, when Hakan Loob retired to go back home. I actually got to meet him shortly after his announcement when he came into the store I worked at. Being a teenager, I had the nuts to question his decision, but also couldn't fault him when he said he wanted to raise his family there. Oh well, what could have been...

Wow, too bad championship teams aren't built from the right side rather than up the middle. The top 4 would rival any team's best...except of course the habs |

Don't you know Colin? A 2012 flames blogger is solely to blame for the quality of players Calgary has had for the last 40 years. I'm surprised that you're surprised by this. |
