I'm no expert but how hard would it be to freeze the players share at the 1.8ish it's at now and then when that amount is 50% then you go 50-50..

The scale down seems to be a solid direction.

I'm for the owners in this except for one issue and no need for Krys Barch sob stories but the contracts signed already should remain the as they are. Grandfather them.

With that though, I think the players should scale down to 49%.

Last I heard... Today... They met for 2 hours, accomplished nothing, and have no immediate plans to meet again.

C'mon EK.
Just when I finally accept in my head that it's over for a while....
You go and make me feel like there's hope.
Why do you do this to us.... WHY?????

Please let there be some truth to this. It has become a truly rediculous situation.
Everyone knows it has to drop to 50-50, put your terms out now PA and get something out of it!!

So does this mean that the NHLPA has already made a proposal or they're in the midst of making one and the NHL is just curious?

I realize Ek needs to make a living here, but there is absolutely no reason to be optimistic.

The NHLPA isn't working on anything at the moment, and the owners aren't willing to budge an inch.

This is just nonsense.

The reason this is nonesense is because if the NHL is soooooo interested in seeing this new proposal that would work for them then why wouldn't they just propose it themselves? Wouldn't that make sense?

I've heard from an excellent source that Bettman and Daly don't know how to use Excel, so it's just easier to respond to NHLPA proposals. (AW3)

If I'm understanding correctly this makes complete sense. As the % goes down for the players revenues go up and then both the players and owners make more money.

"I'm really not sure where we go from here, we have done everything we can think of to try to engage the PA and invite them into a negotiation. But they aren't biting. I guess their definition of negotiating is making a proposal and standing pat until the other side accepts it."
-Bill Daly.
