The city of Edmonton should let the public vote.

It's a rule. It's not really worth a blog.

Let's hear about the Oil Kings who will end up in Seattle one day.

Seguin is unable to get sent to the AHL also...wonder if it has to do with the draft year?

The TSN panel, when discussing it, were leaning to the idea that Edm will help Nail get his transfer papers done and work with the IIHF and OHL to get him in to the KHL.

I have no problem with Nuge to the WJC. He would be a total leader there. It will completely help leadership and confidence.

Just found these from last night:

Hockey Canada ‏@HockeyCanada
From Tokyo and the IIHF Congress, Bob Nicholson provided the following update on Nail Yakupov’s request for a transfer card

BN “Hockey Canada cannot sign the international transfer card for Yakupov until the Sarnia Sting releases this player from his contract."

BN “If Sarnia advises Hockey Canada that it has released the player, Hockey Canada will sign his transfer card.” 3/3

All on Sarnia now...

I think Seguin has played too many games, and isn't on a two-way contract.

If the lockout goes into January, and Canada doesn't wipe the floor with the competition in the World Juniors, there's something seriously wrong with its program (this coming from an American).

I agree, I could care less on seeing any KHL highlights on TSN in regards to the so called locked out NHL players.
Not sure why, but Nash and Thorton bug me the most - those guys are lazy, heartless players.

It's probably why they went to Switzerland and not the KHL. They could dominate with less effort.

I don't see how letting RNH play for Team Canada at the WJC is a problem. It doesn't hurt anyone, not the Barons or the Oilers. It only helps the Junior club, and I think it's a safe bet to say that kids love to wear the Maple Leaf.

Who really cares about one week in the AHL?

Well it does hurt the Barons, but it won't matter if RNH wants to go to WJC he'll go to the WJC.

The Oilers themselves would likely prefer RHN to stay within the system. Country pride aside, Oilers personally don't gain anything from their players being in the tournaments, but they do have the greatest risk should the player get seriously injured while playing. Teams tend to be more accepting of injuries and such if it all happens on the orgnaization's watch.

Edit: I should add that the above aside, the players are being locked out by the same organizations, so the teams can go (frank) themselves. They want to lock out players, but still have control over them. (frank) 'em.

I don't understand why people rag on Thornton. The effort is there every game. Is it because he's not on your team?

Flashback to the playoffs that was his last as a Bruin. That's where all this started, attacking Joe...well during that series Joe played with cracked ribs. No heart? Probably more heart than a lot of NHL players.

I honestly don't think that losing RNH for a week on a team that finished 1st in the West without him last year is going to hurt the team. Isn't Ebs going down there too? I think the Barons will be fine with the Nuge for a week, they already do pretty good without him.

All ELC are two-way, but you are correct he played too many games and is now waiver eligible.

Well they did piss poor on attendance last year so who knows. And generally isn't it like 2 weeks or more that players are gone?

That's weird, because there are players who would normally have to clear waivers, but were allowed through as a result of having two-way deals. Maybe they had a different stipulation for games played versus years served.

1-2. We'll compromise

It's still only 4 games he would miss. Personally I'd rather see Eberle than RNH right now. I know RNH will be better eventually but Ebs is just a treat to watch.

Watching the playoffs last year against the Marlies...the Barons' attendance was pretty pathetic, but then again so was Abbotsford's. At least Oklahoma City can use the excuse of not being a traditional hockey market. Abbotsford's, well, Abbotsford...it's a poophole locked within an otherwise beautiful place.

Like? You do realize there was probably over 100 guys on waiver a week and a half ago.

Abbotsford would do better if it was the Nucks farm team IMO.

OKC was (frank)ed because no one wanted to go weekdays and then they'd compete directly with the NBA which apparently has an arena right next to the Barons.
