No. I heard there's a rift between management and his dad. Something to do with them drafting two centers in the first round. He's pissed. |

There will be miles of smiles in and around Pegulaville on Wednesday September 7 at 7pm, Buffalo Sabres players and alumni will be on hand at the Miracle League Field on Grand Island to play baseball with the 60+ kids who participate in the Miracle League of WNY program.
Garth - Is that date correct? September 7 was this past Friday. Kind of important to get the date right on this one... |

Did anyone read Cloutier's blog about players with NHL experience being eligible to play in the AHL ? If I understand it correctly we could send Ennis, Hodgson, and Foligno down in the case of a lockout to play with Rochester. |

I try very hard not to read Cloutier's blog. Getting hockey info from Cloutier or Garth is crazy (Huddle or Yost is good info though).
Sabres could send players to the AHL that are on their entry level contracts (not Ennis): Foligno, Adam, McNabb, Tropp and Hodgson. Darcy has stated he is not sure if he will assign Hodgson to Rochester.
NHL teams can also send "veterans" through waivers this week to assign them to the AHL. Players such as: Porter, Brennan, Tarnasky, Leggio, Finley. These players are not exempt from waivers, but have 2-way contracts. |

There is still a chance of that but it might turn out that both teams just traded away players who will never catch on. I have higher expectations of Hodgson than I do Kassian but time will tell. Hodgson isnt a slam dunk.
Still a good trade for the Sabres, Kassian wasnt going to do anything for them. |

Sulzer has already been more useful to the Sabres than Gragnani ever was going to be. I think Gragnani has already moved on to the Carolina Hurricanes organization as well. |

Positives of an NHL lockout http://www.hockeyhurts.co...sitives-of-an-nhl-lockout - Gunner Staal
One postive for me, like in the last lockout, is older Legacy players like Jagr who are just holding on to roster spots based on who they are likley won't make it back from the lockout. Weather its them getting comfortable with not playing this fall or they just can't get back up to speed with all that time off, they tend to dissapear and open up a roster spot for a prospect. |

I dont agree with that, it would be a negative to lose Jagr, Selanne, and Alfresson because of a lockout. Those players arent just holding on to a roster spot, they are still very productive. Jagr had 54 points last year on the Flyers top line, Selanne actually led the Ducks in scoring, and Alfredsson is still the bonafide team leader of the Senators and had 59 points. |

Jagr's 54 point came middle to early in the season and he tanked in the playoffs, likley costing the Flyers a legitimate shot at the cup. Now don't get me wrong, I love seeing the Flyers fail like the next guy, but old guys who drop off in april-may-june should be out. In place of younger players who maybe aren't so hot by thanksgiving or Christmas, but find thier stride in march and April and make a career for themselves. |

Jagr had 8 points in 11 playoff games, how bad could he have been?
The entire Flyers team was awful against NJ. |
