More interesting question, besides what Seguin is worth, is how much does Eberle get now? At least he has shown his potential more than Hall. I also agree that they should not have paid Hall more than Tavares or Duchene.

Hall is worth $5 mil max at this point in his career. He will never score 50 in a season.

JR doing well in ref poll

If he gets 60-65% someone should contact him to see if he'd take the job

Can't believe that Bettman & Fehr met yesterday and agreed to not meet. Looks as though neither side is that interested in getting the season started.

Complete f*cking bullpoop.

Ebs is the better player, IMO, and should get paid as such. At least 6.5M i think

You guys obviously don't watch Oiler games, and didn't even do any research on Hall before making a blog about him, or these ppl commenting on here it's actually quite laughable, try comparing Halls Corsi stats to Seguin and Tavares then make an educated blog about it, and Eberle is a stud for sure, but he's not better, not when you compare more in depth stats than points, and even hall was on a pace for very similar points to Ebs last year until he got hurt

I think the fact that Bettman and Fehr had their own meeting may be more significant than the cancelling of the formal negotiating session. If new ideas were discussed in the smaller meeting, it would not have been productive for the full group to get together.

Obviously, all conjecture and only Ek really knows for sure

Are his Corsi numbers similar to those of Mason Raymond's?

If the season starts as a lock-out, I think Eklund will be the one to save it.

I wonder if there will be a Corsi clause in the new CBA?

So Wellwood should be making more than Hall.

The Jeff Skinner deal pushed up the bar for players being paid on potential. It shouldnt have been any higher than $5 mill for either player based on their accomplishments so far.

I'm wondering how Calgary will be able to sign TJ Brodie. 7th in the league, wow.

What the hell ever happened to proving yourself before you get big money thrown at you ?? It's a joke that these kids are getting this kind of money thrown at them based of potential which may never be fully met.

Just another head scratcher blog from Ian...I'm going to have to take you up on that blog post.

JR would be a TERRIBLE commisioner.

Seguin has shown more so far? he sat most of his rookie year and played well last year on a stacked team. Hall score 2 less goals in 20 less games.

Could be worse, they could have signed a goalie for 11 years...

I like the Hall deal. It might be a little overpayment, but the Oilers have had to overpay for players for years. But if in two years if Hall is healthy and playing consistently with the level of dominance he has shown flashes of the deal will be well worth it.

I think spoiledbyoil was trying to impress everyone with his Corsi knowledge. Unfortunately its not a very accurate stat on how valuable a player is.

That said.... Wellwood is a stud
