No Branko Radivojevic update?

Your deep knowledge of Euro hockey has always been a welcome read. I can imagine the work and research that went into this article. Very informative read.

Also, Niko Dimitrakos playing for a team named after Grizzly Adams made my day

Is Jiri Dopita still playing? For awhile there he was considered the best player not in the NHL. Interested hearing about Cechmanek as well.

Cechmanek retired as an active player three years ago.

Dopita is actually still active at age 43. He plays for Czech minor league team HC Olomouc, which not-so-coincidentally, he also owns. That was a silly omission on my part. I've added him to the list.

Unfortunately, he hasn't played anywhere in the last two seasons due to concussion issues. He's never officially retired as far as I know. As with Ian Laperriere, he's recovered sufficiently that he's able to live a normal life but he's not able to play.

Funny thing is, you could do a "where are they now" for pretty much the entire 2006-07 Flyers team.

Glad to see that Matt Ellison is a good player. I was beginning to think we got robbed in that trade.

I went to one game that year and they lost to the Islanders 3-0 or 4-0, I forget which. They did a prospect profile on Andreas Nodl during one of the intermissions though.

I know.... the Flyers' loss was Chicago's gain. But I guess you could say that Matt Ellison is the Patrick Sharp of the KHL. Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod is certainly glad that things didn't work out for Ellison in Chicago, Philly or the Nashville organizations.

My Antero Niittymäki article is now online at NHL.com. Due to the artificial joint in his hip (the result of cumulative damage from numerous labrum tears to both hips), I don't know how well it will work out for him to try to continue his career in Finland. But I certainly wish him the best.

I was being somewhat cynical. My take, however overly optimistic, is that the Flyers were giving a chance for a kid (Sharp) that wasn't getting the playing time or the opportunity for his skill set. If memory (which is not good) serves, Sharp was a 2nd line type player on the Flyers 3rd and 4th lines. If anyone thinks otherwise, please do not post - it will shatter my vision of the Flyers as the most altruistic organization in sports.

To be crystal clear (reference to Tom Cruise, A Few Good Men) - is there a list of pre-approved posters that are allowed to post rumors without sources?

I am not sure if I am on the list, but I set the odds on 40% yes, 60% no.
