Depressing is how much we know the players are getting paid for what they do on the ice

Makes me wonder why I care so much and spend money on season tickets.

Going to games are a big part of my wife and mine's social life, and its a ticket for a night out away from the kids.

if there is another season long lockout it will definitely do damage to how I feel about this league.

this really does suck in the worst way.......I just cant stomach the thought of loosing a whole season. I am looking forward to seeing Ott and Foligno bang around the ice, and seeing what Girgs can Grigs do......all that down the toilet and wasted.

Alright I am out for the weekend.....weekdays while I am at work is the only time I'm on here.

I always liked Donald Audette. He may never have lived up to expectations, but that rookie year......

Amerks are my second favorite team again.

First hockey game as a kid.

Will be watching them more to follow the prospects and get my hockey fix this fall.

Another lock out will crush this sport to the end, maybe Bettman is the problem.

Bettman is a problem - no doubt about it. That said, he is doing the bidding of a majority of owners who need to change the economics of the game.

The bottom line is that NHL players have no business whatsoever making virtually the same dollars, if not more, than NFL players, MLB players or NBA players. The NHL does not generate the same revenues those leagues do and probably never will. Were it not for the resurgence of the Canadian dollar relative to the American dollar, the league would have only a couple teams in the black - and there is no guarantee that the Canadian dollar will always be equal to the American dollar.

If the players association wants to have a league of 30 teams to provide jobs for them then they are going to be at the mercy of Bettman and the owners, Donald Fehr notwithstanding.

This is going to get ugly and eventually Bettman and the owners will prevail even if it means the loss of yet another season.

Such a cozy arena, too. Went to my first Amerks game a few months ago and it was fantastic. That being said, (frank) the Amerks, I wanna see Sabres games this year.

The divide between the two proposals is shocking to say the least. Both sides view the future of player salaries and league revenues very differently. Unless there is an enormous amount of compromise on both sides, a lockout is almost a certainty. Not sure if they are playing the pr game at the moment but each day is ticking away. It seems to me that Buttman wants a lockout to make a point, push the NHLPA into blinking first. And of course the fan takes the brunt of it.

3 lockouts and a work stoppage in the 20 years of power

I think you know the answer
