I would prefer they let Clode age a lil more before doing that, but if they think he's ready then by all means. Although he's still young, I will say Giroux has been through a lot already in his career. A cup finals, a 0-3 series comeback and seeing the contrasts in leadership between Chris Pronger and Mike Richards with a hint of Jagr. Even though I'm not really in support of him getting the C right now, he should be able to handle it.

If Hartnell is re-signed i wouldnt mind seeing him. If not maybe Talbot. Kimmo would be a great choice but would ultimately lead to this question coming up this time next year.

Nice Friday read Bill...

I would vote for Max. Solid Veteran, knows what it takes, has won in the past.

G and Kimmo as A's

Have a good one!!!

Kimmo and Max.

I think G is mature, but still has to get seasoned. His hit on Zubrus confirmed my suspicions.

G is ready for the captaincy. He was the leader in the playoffs, he is the face of the franchise, and most importantly he wants to lead. I think there are other possible candidates (Kimmo, Brere), but I think it is just G's time now.

All that confirmed to me is that the guy has fiery and intense competitive drive. He was completely frustrated... and let it get the best of him.

Its happened to some of the greatest leader of all time..

I would rather him just have to focus on his own game for now... Plus.. our media is pretty poopty.

I suspect that G will be ready for the captaincy on December 12, 2013. That's the perfect date! By then, all of the youthful mistakes will be out of his system and he'll be another year wiser; surely ready to embrace the enormity of his new responsibility.

I like this!

Can you narrow it down to specific time on that day?

I agree... Give it to Timmo. Assuming he does not resign and retires at the end of next season, I'd be a nice way to thank him for his service. Timmo is worthy.

Giroux can wait, he's young. And, give him an "A". One more year of experience.

I know that Richards and Giroux are two different people... But, if we didn't give Richards the "C" - he'd still be a Flyer. Captain Richards was a failure. I wasn't in the locker room, but I read and saw how he screwed up dealing with the media (important part of the job). Richards seemed far to arrogant for the job. Why run the risk of the same thing happening by throwing the C at Giroux?

I prefer the older more experienced players to be captain. Captain sometimes have to go down with the ship. Younger guys have a tougher time dealing with that...
