does it matter? we are just going to all argue about how half of us think player A sucks & the other half will say how awesome player A is. Sprinkle in some lineup predictions, some weather, some Dee bashing... but the topic of the blog.. the meat of the article.. matters not.

Call me crazy but wouldn't it be informative to know what the hold up is for visnovsky? Why is there not an answer or at least a reason as to why there isn't an answer. To me, quoting an adult female who's first learning how to crossover properly is about as interesting as Rick Dipietro talking about sipping outta the cup.

Exhibit "A", in your own words, as to why this blog shouldnt have been written:

"It was small because for the most part -- no one knew it was happening. I can’t even find where it was announced, even if it was short notice"

maybe it wasnt announced because its just not that important....

I dont know but maybe it is me but shouldnt Thompson be more concerned about coaching our team then these adults whoa re not on our team what so ever and have nothing to do with us?????

Wil lhe coach this team to success??? That was the funniest line in the whole article

Which player would you like to choose today?

What topic do you want to argue about today?

Grabner. Closer to 20 goals or 30? I think he bounces back a bit this year. It's possible he was riding the high of being a new dad, being a Calder trophy finalist, and earning a nice contract right before last season. Maybe he comes into this year more focused and driven.

edit -- guess no one wants to talk about Grabner! Streit then? Bounce-back year? Same as last season? Further decline?

ya i agree-- im sure he was disappointed with this previous season and hes getting older and maturing and realizing work needs to be taken care of in order for him to succeed. hes gotta learn to catch a pass.

His focus two seasons ago was incredible. This past season he just seemed to give up more easily on plays. I think part of it too is that good coaches figured out that you have to be mindful of that stretch pass when Grabner's out there, but I don't think his rookie season was a fluke. It's not like pucks were just luckily bouncing off of him and into the net. He created all of his chances, and if anything, was unlucky that even more didn't go in for him (and obviously he still needs to work on his shot). He could be a nice weapon.

Sorry... chasing kids around... trying to get them motivated today.

Grabner... should hit 20 easily this year, playing with Nielsen and KO.

Streit will get alot of icetime again this year. I think he will be a little better than last year.

Hamonic and MacDonald are the ones to watch.

Alot still depends on Vis... who will step up to that 3-4 defenceman?

further decline...hes not getting any younger- he looked a step behind way too often last season (granted coming off of the shoulder injury) but i think he wont be any better than he was last season and potentially less from a points standpoint.

With Grabner's speed... if the defence is holding back a bit, it should help with their breakout.

He will get his opportunities regardless... he just needs to work on finishing...lol.

Could you imagine Grabner's speed with Schremps hands (sorry... had to throw him in the conversation) ...

Curious to see how AMac plays this year. His game went from the best-bargain top-4 d-man in the league to 6-7 d-man in the matter of one season. He's fast enough and smart enough to be an effective defensive d-man with puck-moving skills. He just seemed to, I don't know, guess wrong on a lot of plays this past season.

Agree that Vis is crucial to the makeup of the D. I still can't believe how long this has taken to figure out. I'd be furious if I was Snow.

Streit and Nabby should grab us some nice draft picks @ the deadline...

MacKinnon or Jones is the question?

yuup...this is a HUGE deal for the islanders and its dragging on waaaaay too long. visnovsky being on the team or not is a huge deal. if they would have made a decision than the isles would know how to proceed at this point. they would presumably be working on a way to fill the position if in fact the trade is voided. every day that goes by is another day lost (if the deal is voided). this should be on top of garths "to do" list

Hopefully with a much more mobile D (even the rookies, whichever one or two make the team, should be better at moving the puck up ice than Jurcina/Mottau/Eaton), Streit won't have to chew up so many minutes, which might help him. think having Staios as a top-pairing partner didn't help Streit either. Credit to Staios, the guy played his hardest, but Streit still had to handle all the offense and 3/4 of the ice on defense for that pairing.

Haven't heard a peep yet!!!

They may be waiting to see how the CBA plays out!!!

I'm sure somebody has already looked @ the contract... and know how it will play out. But probably won't say anything until the contract dispute is settled.
