NSH sucks no one wants to play in "honky tonk town"

LA is more hockey saavy than a bunch of rednecks bouncing around a country music fair.

Weber is going to be traded just like Nash in the future.

Gotta get over the fact no player wants to be apart of SMASHVILLE LOL

Congrats to the Preds and apologies to you Paul - I was one who questioned whether the Preds had the resources but was educated on here by some well-informed Preds fans even prior to the match of the offer yesterday. Great for Nashville and a great day for "small market" teams IMO that the Preds were able to and did match.

According to whoever the fishwrapper talked to at The Hockey News (the place to get all your most accurate Nashville hockey info!), Shea is going to play out his year then demand a trade.

And yeah, Dreger's tweet that we should expect Shea's agents to request a No Trade clause be put in the contract after they signed it last week really sounded kinda insane to me. Can Poile counter with a request they balance the bonuses? Be real.

They cheered Betteman.....they obviously know hockey

All kidding aside, I used to play pickup in LA at a rink on Sepulvada. Lots of die hard fans....most of them transplants, but the love of the game is obvious.

There are diehards everywhere, but a Kings fan giving it to a Preds fan is a little ridiculous.

That's great - Verizon Center is a great atmosphere for a game, and the setting in DC gives you many pre-game/post-game options.

That would be the Idiot par excellence, Ken Campbell, one of the head weenies at that worthless rag The Hokey Made-up Hockey News. (THMHN)

He's delusional as usual.

Paul, your being too defensive on this. There was lots of support for the Preds from lots of directions over this matter. I thought the feature by Ryan Kennedy of the Hockey News was very positive about the Preds and, especially, about the highly efficient way that Poile handled the entire affair.

In my own mind I thought Poile was going to get the green light to match and than negotiate a mega deal not to match that would have given him some elite talent. Regardless, Poile and Pred's ownership handled this with a great deal of class. Not a time to let your frustration boil over.

Offer sheets only contain certain principal terms of the contract, items such as NTC/NMC's could be added as addendums after the fact. Really not that strange. Philly could have done the same thing if Nashville didn't match.

There was a lot of outside support but it seemed to be mostly from other teams' fans. The media, even some of our own (the Fish Wrap) has been suspect. I'd venture that 75% or more of the non-Preds hockey media's reporting/tweeting/blogging has been pro Philly. (And, conversely, negative towards the Preds.)

He's ready. Weber will be able to make up for his lack of size on that line. But he moves the puck just like Suter and has one helluva shot. I think that combo would be nuts. Keep Gill/Josi together cause they played great together, and pair up Klein and possibly Blum?

So...if addendums can be added is there a way to lessen the bonus money and spread it out so as not to hamstring the Predators in the first 4 years? I know that the current CBA says that contracts are non-negotiable, but could some bonus alleviating (or re-working) be added or just NMC's and NTC's?

I'm really upset i missed the trolling Kings fan....that's almost...nope it is....that's an oxymoron. He doesnt even do it that good. Anyone can go to another thread and sling dirt. But there is an art to trolling. And he, my friends, was no artist...

We need to go ahead and get Carlo Colaiacovo to pair with Klein and have Blum as the 7th...
