No Horak, or Reinhart? I know they're not exactly expected to slot in at this point, but Feaster's said they can play their way onto the team if they outperfom the vets.... |

Ah, the first post to comment on this....perfect lol.
I thought long and hard about including them...but my "vision" if you will for this blog was the most ready NHL candidates. Dont get me wrong, they might work their way in, I just dont see it. Of course Feaster wants to let them know the opportunity is there, but its much more likely that they take their time developing.
Good points though |

I agree. I think Horak will see some more time as an injury call up, but Reinhart shouldn't be rushed at this point.
Byron might have a shot at playing with the big club too at some point. |

I do think that Cammy will play more Center than wing this year though. |

If your top 4 centers are:
Backlund
Cervenka
Jones
Stajan
then you might be looking to add another center by the name of Mackinnon in 11 months time. - Oil_Addict
I'd feel pretty bad breaking the Oilers streak... What will you guys have to look forward to in April if you don't get another 1st overall? |

Probably the flames finishing 9th again... I'm sure wherever we finish 1-14 we will win the lottery which will change during cba negotiations and will pick #1. Tambo has his lucky tie after all |

On what-division, conference?
Points are so bloody tough with the OT factor...
Calgary- 95 for 9th place
Edmonton - 88 for 11th... |

That would most certainly be guaranteed sir, except for the one x factor in Calgary named Kipper. And make no mistake, Kipper is the ONLY reason this team continues with its' current makeup and current plans. The general belief is if you sneak into the playoffs with him as your tender, you have a legitimate shot of going the distance. that will come in handy this year eaither way (as our horse for a playoff run, or our chip to cash in at the deadline).
Personally, I'm hoping for a playoff push.
And btw, no way calgary would pick up Mackinnon anyways. There's plenty of off the board high schoolers I'm sure feaster and co would much rather take |

horse number nine has been tearing it up. No reason to bet against it....
All kidding aside, if Kipper plays like Kipper, Iggy plays like your typical star player in the final year of his current contract, and the new coach get's the often typical new coach lift, and gio stays healthy they have a legit shot at making the dance. How long they stay at the ball will depend on Kipper. |

nobody does, though he is an insomniac. I look at those centers Colin put forth and i see maybe only one of them getting more than 40 points this year |

It's hard to project for any of these guys until we see Cervenka play. If Cammy plays 1C and Cervenka's 2C that puts Backlund and Stajan as 3/4... The whole system's tough to figure out.
As mentioned above, if Hartley wants Cammy on the wing then there's a good chance that Stajan or Backlund will play top line minutes.
How do you project when a guy like Stajan could play either top line, or be in the pressbox? |

Well cammaleri should be good for 60-70 but he wasn't on that list. If stajan played with iginla the entire year, he might only get to 40 points, which is what i'm saying for backlund and cervenka as well |
