Must have used Alzner's deal in Wsh as a comparison for Fayne. Believe he got the same deal last year. Similar player to Fayne as well.

"I can't comment on that" means yes, the Semin camp is talking to the Devils. The absence of any chatter regarding Semin is deafening.

At the same time, he wouldn't say no because then he just proves that one less team is out of the mix and loses some of his leverage.

An agent is never going to say that a team is not in the mix.

Great signing. I wouldn't have minded twice that. I wouldn't be against use signing Semin for short term. Definitely would not sign him long term with his reputation.

Vertseeg plays less hard then Semin on defense. That's saying something... about Semin.

i'm not trying to be immature.. but seeing this dude's name everywhere is starting to get a bit weird lol. i'd rather his name be "Boner". there was a girl in one of my classes with that last name ha. but its better than Semin! yeesh.

The thing is I like Tallinder, I like Zidlicky, Greene, Volchenkov and Salvador. IMO, Larsson and Fayne bring the least to our D. .. maybe Greene. Larsson made a lot of mistakes last year.. Fayne and Greene just seem marginally all around better. idk. Volchenkov may be out because he's less mobile and was only getting like 16 minutes, but he played pretty well.
I'd be comfortable with
Tallinder-Zidlicky
Fayne-Greene
Salvador-Volchenkov

I think we're better with them than with Larsson in the lineup.. but its more beneficial for Larsson to play. I think the D as a whole looks better with Larsson in Volchenkov's spot, but I like the physical aspect Volchenkov brings. i'm contradicting myself because I see benefits to both players. Volchenkov hits hard, Larsson has better offensive vision. No one else plays like Volch and we need a bruiser on D that can block shots and be in good position. Salvador plays physical but idk how much longer her can keep it up. I really liked what Tallinder brought last year and in the playoffs. Its a shame 1 of these guys will be moved, but I'd much rather be in this position than in a few years back with Rachunek, Klee, Malakov, Vishnevsky, Brookbank, etc.

I want him to play too. So we'll sit Volchenkov until we have an injury.. or trade Volchenkov or Greene. I just don't see Tallinder being moved.

Larsson was 19 last season, cut him some slack. He still led our D in scoring playing less games then the others. If one had to go, my vote is for Tallinder. We went most of the year without him and played fine and theres nothing he can really bring that someone like Larsson can't bring besides maybe experience. I wouldn't move Greene or Fayne because they were a great shutdown pair and wouldn't move Volchenkov for the reasons you said.

I wouldn't mind moving ATrain, but I don't know if he wants to move. Maybe we can flip Tallinder for Stalberg, Setoguchi, someone like that. Not many options out there. If the cap drops maybe we can get a better winger cheap. I'm pretty sure SJ is close to the cap, maybe Pavelski becomes available.

That's another thing that Volchenkov has a NTC and Tallinder doesn't. As far as SJ goes, I don't think Pavelski would be an option for us. I think Clowe or Havlat would be more who was available.

yea right on Pavelski.. that would be amazing. I think he can play wing too, but he's part of their core and I doubt they let him go. You really like Greene over Tallinder. I'd do Greene for Setoguchi. That would be a great move. We'll get a top 6 winger for about half the price as Semin. Sure, Semin is a top line winger and Seto probably a 2nd line guy.. but I'll take it. Zubrus is capable of that top line RW.. heck he's capable of every line RW.

True about the NTC. Clowe would be nice.. Havlat is too skilled. Even though he's made of glass I don't think it would be an even trade. San Jose's D is pretty good tho. MN need a dman a lot more than SJ. They have Burns, Boyle, Vlasic, Murray, Stuart as their top 5. Not bad at all.

Assuming we keep them all, my guess would be Larsson and Tallinder rotate in, whoever is playing better at the time, and Harrold is put in if they are both sucking or injury purposes
